This time, I'm creating a kitbash that isn't based on a specific unit in the game or something that exists in the lore. Instead, it's a miniature Warhammer diorama that can be used as an objective marker. In the theme of Tyranids vs Leagues of Votann. ------------------Pop a like if you enjoyed the video :)

That’s how mine looks, I think it’s just the chemicals in the hardener separating. You mix it up anyway so it’s all good.

I kind of like the bright purple. It draws you in as an 'oh cool, Tyranid bio-thingy' before you notice the unfortunate Votann and go 'Oh...'

A thing I've seen some other creators do to help milliput/greenstuff stick to a base is to score/scratch up the base first and that helps give enough texture for the milliput to grip to.

Honestly i think things are farm more creepy and grim when theres a calmness and lack of explanation. No tentacles, no obvious way the votann was captured and consumed, just this structure seeming growing out of the corpse.

I know its too late now but I think you could have added some Hormagaunt Scything arms as Claws or the "tentacles" you wanted. Maybe have them stabbing and pinning the Dwarf's shoulders down.

You know, normally I would agree that it's too late... but this idea is now literally burning a hole in my head. I have a perfect pair of claws I just 'borrowed' from a termagant. I'll try to post an updated picture in the community tab in a few days with the result!

One trick I learned is mixing the miliput and greenstuff or better referred to as greenput lol it truelly is the best of both worlds you get the softness and flexibility of greenstuff and the firmness and hardening of the miliput

Ooo I need to try greenput, I wasn't aware those two are mixable. I guess epoxy is epoxy 😄 Thanks for the tip!

For sure, sticky and pliable when uncured but rock solid and sandable when it’s cured. I still think milliput is best when you’re going for hard edges and greenstuff for when you need a little flex but the hybrid does most jobs brilliantly.

Awesome looking objective marker! Always superglue green stuff/miliput if you can, it holds alot better that way. mixing green stuff and miliput together 50/50 gives you the best of both worlds. The miliput makes it cheaper, hold detail better, and makes it alot easier to thin out, whilst also making it drill and sandable, and the green stuff helps with the amount of detail you can put into it, and makes the final product softer when cured (as opposed to rock hard) I think miliput is supposed to look like that ot, it looks gross but works fine after its mixed :)

I think the pink looks good but you’d make it a little more punchy if you went with a spray of white and then pink over it. Most pinks have horrible opacity so the white underspray does the heavy lifting.

I honestly think the osl looks great, if you're not happy about it looking too bright you can try making it the focal point to fix your own perspective. Could try darkening the parts that are further from the mini with more shading and blacks to give the effect that the osl is the only light in the area.

What red did you use? The bright red one.

That's AK Interactive Deep Red. It's easily the brightest and most saturated red I have. The only downside is it takes a few layers, and it dries a bit more matte than the rest of the range.

😄 I'm an improvisationalist, for better or worse. When the video starts, I often have a single color in mind, and everything else is decided along the way, which is why sometimes it works, and other times, it goes horribly wrong. It's a messy way of doing it, but I think I would get bored far too quickly if I knew the ending to every project before I started.

@@AnotherDayMiniatures the first video I saw of yours you had broken the spear on your custom SM and pointed it out, which I thought was 1) silly 2) relatable. I think it helps show that everyone makes mistakes, even pro painters, and that when you do, fixing it is just another piece of the process.

@@Psycho-BabbleAhh, the Obsidian Marauders Space Wolf. I still find it funny how, knowing my luck, it happened after I had already painted the spear. Yeah, I just see it as part of the process and something worth showing. I have scrapped a few projects and videos that just went completely wrong, mainly because at that point, there's nothing worth showing and it feels like a waste of time for the people watching.
