9:29 I can just imagine the T'au sending a hacker specialist to infiltrate an Imperial defense network, only for the guy to get there and realize that it is run by a mechanical computer.
The drones on the piranhas count as embarked units, so when the piranhas got nuked the drones should’ve popped off and carried on fighting. Not a huge deal, but worth noting when capturing objectives or using them as a flanking force.
That's actually really good to know, never thought about it on the couple times my Piranha got shot to hell before getting a chance to release the drones...!
The lack of terrain in the Tau deployment played a big part in the outcome I think. Marines had 4 to 5 buildings to conceal themselves while Tau had the big cannon complex and one other building (which were far apart from each other).
Best turn system by far in my opinion is Rick Priestley game Bolt Action.... Wish GW would bite the bullet and ask him kindly if they could use it....it's worth the rewrite.
Don't know if it just my skipping the beginning, but I ended up with Matt saying "Which are all Primaris, which by the way are all robots." That would explain a lot...
The Primaris and their current vehicles are very cool. I like them overall and how they stand on the battlefield. My 3rd edition heart is a bit sad to know the tactical squad I put together through a year or so and then built around them a recently-old small army over few years are pretty redundant and obsolete now. But the future marches on and I'll just replace the "Astartes" part of my army with the Primaris.
@Jamie Mccormick Place one of the regular chaos marines from Shadwospear next to one of the Vanguard marines from Shadowspear. They're the same size. But the chaos marine can fit in a Rhino...
Lovely new bunker, and an enjoyable battle report to watch. However its seems to be that the result is known after turn 1 with your battle reports, sometimes just by looking at the army lists. While you aim for shorter lists, eg. the marines, the Tau list was shocking in how soft it was. Broadsides without any drones ! I'm surprised they lasted a turn :( It does take away from the battle report, when I'm just watching the inevitable from very early on.
Speaking as a Marine player, Matthew's list isn't even too strong. There are no super meta choices, like Scout Bikes or Predators. He's not even running Guilliman (naturally) which is the only way Marines are done competitively And I agree, the bunker looks dope
Why didn't you make the first floor no line of sight? Probably would have led to some more tactical decisions rather than a game of standing and shooting.
Because the comments would have been full of people screaming how it was too much like competitive play..and alot of the viewers here seen to really hate anything close to that lol
Matt should roll his dice propperly. I get the feeling he is just prepparing them to get the result he wants. That coupled with so much rerolling bs, meant he was just playing in automode.
@@johansmifthelry9307 oh im super down with the individual units; I love piranhas and sniper drones! I use one or both in amost every game. The overall list is just kinda all over the place, with a lot of units using weird loadouts. The main gripe i have is with the xv8 loadouts though: fusion, plasma, ats might be the worst loadout ive seen on an individual crisis suit. Way too many support systems in general. I like the drone controller, but everything else can go. Just the opinion of an amateur though.
Oh yeah, I'm totally with you. As a tau player the only MWG battery that I physically can not watch are the ones that feature Tau with unoptimised lists. A squad of crisis suits where you basically have 9 different items taking hard points? Count me right out >_>
Unfortunately space marine vehicles don't get access to the chapter tactics only dreadnoughts bikes and infantry :( so the repulsor doesn't get the salamander re rolls!
Also Matt used it to roll pre-modifier successes, despite the Tactics only allowing to re-roll fails... One starts to wonder if these guys aren't native to English-speaking country. ^^"
First, use rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush to clean off the unwanted paint. Next, you must offer up a prayer to our Lord and savior Duncan Rhodes, and proceed to apply two thin coats of base. After that, the painting should go smoothly. Repeat this process for each model you paint.
Coming to you from beyond the veil of time and space, Space marine vehicles do not benefit from Chapter tactics, sans dreadnoughts. They do however benefit from warlord trait. But fear not, spacemartine warlord traits are not exactly memorable so maybe next time.
It would help if Matt faced decent opponents/armies and didn't cheat. Kinda hard to "Beat Matt" otherwise. Should be called "Beat... Matt... with a heavy disadvantage... Batrep!"
Your new studio is very acoustically "bright", with a whole lot of echo and buzz from the flat walls and thinly carpeted floors. You should look into some soundproofing foam for the ceiling and maybe under the table and anywhere the camera can't see to cut down the echo effect.
I hadn't touched Warhammer since 2004ish outside of picking up the odd white dwarf magazine every now and then but I feel like it was dying even back then, how active is the hobby still these days? did it become infinitely cheaper to compete with games like Total War? I can't imagine spending hundreds or thousands on armies and overpriced paints when I could play online all day everyday Total Warhammer
The hobby is stronger than ever, but definitely not cheaper. As to why you'd play it instead of video games, it's the same reason you'd play D&D in person with someone rather than a D&D video game. They are different experiences.
I have a lot of experience playing Tau, I've been playing since the 2nd edition Tau Codex/3rd Edition? (Can't remember.) And I have 5000+ points worth of models...It is a sad day when the Tau gets outgunned, thankfully I've never lived that day, but I've lost some matches. However, I would have done much better against some green Space Marines! I hate Space marines...
Riptide's expensive for what it is, but a Ghostkeel could have been a good pick, it hurts and it's resilient. Even if you just use it as a distraction it's already earning back its points. But yeah, Shield drones should be a given at this level... :/
I was hoping to see the tau lose with how many games I’ve seen on other channels where the tau just steam roll the other team... but this was just sad. I feel bad with how crappy the tau guy rolled
Ugh, a Tau player adding advanced targeting to models that already have -4 and -3 ap weapons, guess I'm done with this video at only 7 minutes in... sigh
