Tyrone was a friend of this white boy. Met him at the race track in Chi-Town my brother and I were trainers. Ty would be at the track every chance he got looking for us to give him winners and he loved us for it. Especially the night I gave him a $78 winner. What a great guy Ty was! In 1999 my wife and I were in Vegas when I saw he was preforming at the Flamingo. I called his room Ty answered. I said hey man what are you doing it's your man Dan I'm in Vegas. He said WTF, come to my show tonight. Told him we're there brother. He he left us 3 tickets. Saw the show then went up his suite afterwards. Next morning he met me in the race book and we bet on some Chicago Harness Racing. In 1999 I retired from training and moved to Vegas. I was sick to my stomach when I heard Ty died in 2005. I still listen to his music all the time. Brings back all the good memories of have of Mr Cool. The one and only Tyrone Davis.
One of my fun memories was at the paradise with tyrone! Man we had a ball. He would come to town twice a year and put on 2- shows for the price of one!! You definitely got your money worth. There will never be another time like it was then. Ofcourse to help with those memories, there was a special lady by my side Oh what a time!! I will always remember Tyrone Davis.
This sure did bring back the hands of time. I’m sitting here smiling thinking about my beautiful Mother and how she so adored him and bought all his music
Oh my goodness this show back brought back some memories for me back when I was going to Tennessee state as of love this song right here if I could turn back the hands of time and I'm living out there on 40 oh my goodness
My mom ❤️ love his music and we would. Listen to his music and loved it and my mother will have myself a cocktail and we would dance for bring back a lot of memories and their hands of time lots of love
Tyrone Davis is all about real soul music 🎶 and is also one ☝🏾 of the most legendary fantastic, iconic, magnificent, powerful, talented, underrated performers ever in the music 🎶 business and his longtime band is keeping his legacy alive while T.D. is in heaven
As a freshman in high school when this came out (about '70) I LOVED this and his other radio hit that came along about the same time. You Tube makes me ill, but they're great for getting vids like these old stars doing their thing.
Tyrone Davis had the most entertaining live band. They would put on quite a performance. Of course there was only one Tyrone Davis, a super great great singer and entertainer.
Tyrone Davis is the Artist I have seen perform LIVE more than any other with the possible exception of JAMES BROWN. Stood within a few feet of TD at the High Chaparral in Chicago. He just stood silently. Never forget that moment. Wrote a song for him called "Checking You Out" which I released under my artist name Imperial Brown and the Million Seller. Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to record it.
This man should he in the hall of fame. All of these so called new singers who cannot sing and don’t have as many hits this man put out get all kinds of rewards why because it’s a sham. I still listen to Tyrone all the time. New singers need to get their on style or sound. Every one sounds the same.
I love his voice. I can listen to him sing all day long. But still my favorite song he sang is Can I Change My Mind. Had the 45 and played it over and over just to hear his beautiful voice. I'd just sit back and listen to every note he sang . It gave me pure pleasure and enjoyment just to hear him sing. Man you don't hear voices like that anymore. 🎶😇❤️
