Before Links came I would have loved to see them get a fusion spell and monster. Now it'd be nice to see a decent Link 2 that searches any UA card on it's Link summon and maybe even grant an additional normal summon at the cost of only being able to special summon UA monsters for the rest of the turn. Hard O.P.T. of course. Maybe even grant bonus effects for being Linked to UA monsters as well.
I think Link 2 might be asking too much :/ a Link 1 would be perfect because then you can still control 2 U.A. monsters on the field for Turnover Tactics, especially if that Link 1 just grants you a normal summon. I'm personally not asking for a U.A. card that makes the deck broken, just one that can update the deck to today at least.
Hatzmania Link 2 wouldn't be asking for too much at all when most of the new Link support for older archetypes are getting Link 2 monsters. The extra normal still allows for having 2 UAs on board, 1 is simply a Link UA. It won't break the deck at all if it's hard once per turn and only permits the special summoning of UA monsters for the rest of the turn. Following the Ritual Beasts trend, it can even include going back to the extra deck to special a UA from hand via it's own effect and allowing even more flexibility in choosing which UAs you can end turn with.
There's too much tech that works with UAs in Link format to even consider going pure without 3x Reasoning and 3x RotA, pure will brick too much. Depending on what you have access to, you can even abuse Links with UAs or even Ultimaya (hindered with Gofu at 1). If you do try to go as pure as possible, play Chain Summoning with Rebounder at 3. Those 2 with Stadium go off like crazy!! If you don't care for the extra deck while doing it, play the Squires and get 4 summons in one turn!! That's also 4 Stadium searches!!
NOTE: Chain Summoning in UAs giggles at Ash Blossom as it doesn't destroy Stadium like Ghost Ogre would. You'd get one less search but as long as you have the UAs in hand, it won't matter.
+Jesse Harding you know Reasoning & Rota are at 1 right? Chain summoning could Work really well But i dont see rebounder as efficient on 3 in my testing. Gofu is still OP.
Mate, where's your Goalkeeper??? Rebounder and Goalkeeper can make Beatrice for one more way to mill Box and Gnomes, not to mention Goalkeeper's protection and highest defense stat in the archetype. Take note that Level Eater can be abused too ;) You should also check out the Naturia cards to get even spicier ;)
Well I use both Beast and Barkion in this build's extra deck because they're both very relevant right now, but here's my reasoning for the other cards: I was playing Goalkeeper in testing and I never wanted to search it. I was playing it at 1 or 2 in Zoo format because it was fairly decent against both Dracos and Zoodiac. However, in this current format, there isn't a great argument for it due to cards like Evenly Matched and ABC Buster Dragon, and it does basically nothing for you in the Trickstar matchup (which is hard enough for this deck as it is). The only arguments you could make for playing Goalkeeper are Master Peace and Sleeper, but I felt that this deck has better outs to both of those cards than Goalkeeper. I agree that the Defense stat is good, but Ace's and Blockbacker's effects more than make up for their lower defense, and Blockbacker is only 100 less. Beatrice isn't very necessary for the deck anymore for the following reasons: most U.A. builds are playing 3 Foolish Burial Goods, which does the same thing. When using Rebounder, you would much rather have a negate on board like ace or blockbacker than a dead beatrice that will at best get 2 searches if it's not Ash'ed or Ogre'd, or if you're already under Droll & Lock. There is also a decent enough chance you will draw a penalty box since there are 3 in the deck, but there are easy and searchable discard outlets like Ravine and Ace. As for Level Eater, until this deck either gets a Link monster OR a level 1 U.A., Level Eater does very little for the deck. Your main focus is to get U.A.'s out on to the field, and since Level Eater can't be tributed, it's not very good at generating normal summons so that you can search through stadium. Level Eater is also a DARK monster, and I would be more inclined to use it if it were EARTH so that it would be easy material for Missus Radiant, but that is unfortunately not the case.
Hatzmania Everything you said is very valid, aside from Level Eater. It can be tributed for a tribute summon. You put ANY Link monster on board with any Lv5 or higher monster, you get to bring back Level Eater and Link summon even higher (Level Eater and M.Radiant for Link 3) and you can bring Level Eater right back again if you still have any Lv5 or higher monsters and go for a Link 4 at that point. Level Eater and Feast of the Wild basically equals Firewall spam with the right cards. Also, Beatrice can send Level Eater to help get your Links going so long as you have a Lv5 or higher monster with her. Level Eater with Linkslayer equals MST and a Link 2 without using a normal summon as well (Ib the World Chalice or Proxy Dragon). You'll also most likely get hit with Ash before making Beatrice as the easiest way to make her is by having Stadium, Deal, and any UA in hand. Deal would likely trigger Ash and then there is Stadium as well if you don't already have both Goalkeeper and Rebounder before Stadium's search. On a side note, I definitely think you've been putting out some of the better UA profiles.
You're right! I misread Level eater. I might play around with it in the future, especially with Linkuriboh coming out (and I have THAT on pre-order) Also, thank you! I try to be innovative with some more "wacky" versions but I definitely prefer the more straight-forward, tried-and-true versions
