The only thing you missed was a key interaction between block baker and change over. Because your monsters hit field first and then you're opponents come out, Backer can switch all their monsters to defense and negate their stuff. It's the best maneuver in the deck

Sad part tho is that if those monsters have effects specifically when they are summoned, Blockbacker only works to negate them on your opponent's turn. Cause if it's opponent's turn, their monster effects will be CL1 and Blockbacker will be CL2 but Blockbacker will be CL1 on your turn and their effects will be CL2.

The U.A. (and to the same extent the F.A.) are an arechtype I spent a lot of money gathering together so that I can have a loaded team. Tldr my obsession eith having playsets of all the cards I buy made this deck a tough one to build.

I'm still bummed out there was no U.A. Hockey monsters. U.A. Slapshotter and U.A. Wing Enforcer would have been fantastic additions.

@@QuestGamerable I figured that was Playmaker. He's the power forward, quarterback, and catcher in one. Also, to OP. A Slapshotter and Wing Enforcer would also imply a Goalie. Preferably with Jordan Binnington's save% during the Blues Cup run.

Rewatching this on January 23rd 2023, and hearing “we’re on our way to 5,000 subs…” while he’s sitting almost at 50,000!? I remember when this video came out… proof this Golden Duelist is anything but a Gilded Dud. Stay awesome Nova! And keep shooting for the stars!!!

I really enjoy this series, I just started playing again over the last few months and there are so many archetypes I feel like I missed out on, and these vids give me a nice vertical slice of an archetype's toolkit, keep up the good work!

Definitely would be great to add some new monsters but not any extra deck monsters. The fact Turnover Tactics absolutely screws over your opponents extra deck monsters and not your field is a big bonus. I would design new U.A. monsters on ice hockey, rugby and pro wrestling.

I absolutely LOVE the U.A. archetype in Duel Links. It's seriously satisfying having the opponent summon out a whole board of extra deck monsters, only for me to activate Turnover Tactics and wipe the board clean. Btw, bringing out Blockbacker with your group from Turnover Tactics is a great way to negate the effects of all the monsters the opponent summons out, and/or switch them all to defence mode during the opponent's battle phase. Penalty Box is SUCH a useful card too. Throwing a Midfielder out to goad the opponent into attacking, then at the start of the damage step you flip that. It's a VERY dirty tactic for getting rid of big monsters. Best of all though, it's NOT a destruction OR targeting effect, so it can stop pretty much anything in its tracks... AND you can do it on your own turn too... So if you have something problematic, the moment it comes back to the field in your opponent's end phase, you can boot them right back to the penalty box! I'm very eager for them to bring in the next lot of U.A. cards (so far, Duel Links only has up to part 5 of this video... part 6 is what I'm waiting for!) BTW, the way I see Man of the Match could work extremely well if you're able to keep it on the field a turn and then summon out something to deal damage with (be it Dunker or the like), as then you get to flood your field with other U.A./F.A. monsters to commence beating down the opponent with a whole bunch of attacks.

It's hilarious how many times I've played it, someone sees me throw their monster in the Pentaly Box on one turn, then tries to attack the next turn anyway thinking the trap is a one-and-done. I'm still waiting for that extra support in Duel Links though... I'm eagerly awaiting the day I get my hands on Libero Spiker and Player Manager... Then we'll see some sporty mayhem!

I don't think U.A. Stadium's atk boost effect can block for Player Manager's on summon effect. Since Stadium's atk boost effect is mandatory (When summoned, do this) and Player Manager's is optional (If summoned, you can do this), the stadium always has priority and is the first link in the chain.

Before the new support, U.A. Tenyi was a fantastic way to play the deck. Access to Adhara and Vishuda allowed for access to powerful go first synchros like Naturia Beast or Barkion, and extra removal for problem cards going second. And you could tribute the Tenyis for Rival Rebounder, letting you get more board presence.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh they just really need to add Forward(striker) and defender. Since we already have midfielder and goalkeeper. Then just make some spell or trap cards that are futbol oriented which isn't hard. I've come up with ideas myself wish I could submit to konami

Turnover Tactics...plus Dark Ruler no More if you're going 2nd...priceless. Get 2 UAs on the field if you can after Dark Ruler, switch them out, get shuffle back into the extra deck, and even though those monsters can't attack, your opponent still has to spend additional resources to recur their extra deck losses. Granted, that might be pretty easy to accomplish with certain decks...but I digress. Awesome video as usual, Nova! I might need to try these out! Helps that they are VERY affordable

"You can out dragoon too! Well. Not by attacking it" My brother recently summoned Dragoon against me and I will have you know that 6500 ATK Dreadnaught Dunker will disagree with that. Once you have the field spell and Dunker, you can cycle your UAs while keeping Dunker to boost it to new heights. Thats one swift recipe for Red-Eyes Dunked Dragoon.

Ahhhhy yes I'm currently using this type for Dual links and I'm having such a blast. Basically My main Win Condition is what I call The U.A. Heavy Play Slugger! Rn I Basically have U.A. Ace for Clean up if I notice a lot of spells and traps and Switch to Backblocker for the summons. GOALKEEPER is key due to his effect be able to activate when ur opponent attacks and totally saving the day, while your playmaker and heavy slugger go to work Amping Up The ATK. Theoretically Heavy Sluggers Atk can keep on increasing infinitely if you Special Summon Switch Playmaker every so often so he doesn't lose all his atk. I think the highest ATK I achieved with Heavy Slugger was around 8K. His attacks can grow even farther given that your opponent has the cards to spare. But one weakness that is always consistent is Just Bad card draw RNG. Your opponent can easily work around and even fool you into making the wrong choice or baiting certain effects easily bypass your defense. In most games I'm literally going 5-15 Rounds Not doing anything but drawing cards until I feel safe enough to attack. Overall it's my favorite deck rn!

Just want to add my 2 cents since I just built this deck in MD. Foolish burial goods Penalty Box then banish it to search Power Jersey to push for game or grab the Stadium if you need to setup your board.

UA became my favorite deck i found out about them by accident. I was talking to a friend while i had my phone in my hand i looked down and i spent a 10 back of gems on the UA pack (atheletes) i told my self I dont care i aint wasting that ten pack and built their deck and now them and the vampires is my favorite lol

Amazing video! This is my favorite archetype. I’m so happy master duel came out because I have reached platinum 1 in back to back months with U.A. They still are missing a quite a few sports cards so hopefully more support gets printed soon.

The ultimate jock deck. I wish we get the rest in DL. I actually spent a lot of gems getting x3 Midfielder. Egen though they're not meta and ain't that strong, I like the way they look. Hot jocks ftw!
