Prime Minister the day after the election? I guess that surprising to me as an American as we wait months before the new guy starts the job.

That's because they have elections more often. The people can vote in the middle of a term and decide they want all new leadership. The prime minister comes from the majority party, so it's not like the states where you might have a conservative congress and a liberal president.

@@I_Evo Presidents are inaugerated on January 20th due to the 20th Amendment of the Constitution. Believe it or not, former presidents used to serve until March, not January. The amendment was meant to correct this.
