For the first time in the studio, Ellen sat down with U2's Bono and The Edge, and they talked about having a mom as a roadie, becoming a family after 40 years together, and how Bono credits the band with saving his life.
Nice to see Bono settled down and showing some humility. I think he knows that he’s past his prime now, but he doesn’t care and keeps going because it’s what he loves to do and it makes him happy and fulfilled. Thanks for the 40 years of great tunes, guys. You are all true legends in music
He's always shown humility and acknowledges he can be pompous. He confronted himself with a "Young Bono vs. Old Bono" during Bullet the Blue Sky back in 2015.
@@tubeMonger I have read and listened to everything publicly available that can be attributed to Bono. His humility has been cultivated via his faith and humor. And it's there aplenty. Careful not to conflate his prodigious talents and passions for arrogance. He puts his money and energy where his mouth is. You might not share his political perspective, but I think you would be hard-pressed to find another artist that has worked as successfully with all shades of the political perspective as Bono.
Yes, as a musician I'm envious of their band having never had a close knit one myself - they are brothers or family as Edge said. It's incredible how they are as a unit.
Just awesome. I predicted way back in 1983 they would be huge. I was a teenager and I made them my favorite band. Still today they are my favorite band.
This is one of the best interviews, Bono and The Edge have come so far and how cool is it that its lasted this long. I think this was Ellen's dream interview too.

I love the fact that every album is different and daring.. Every album launch leaves you in suspense as they are always evolving as musicians, and that's not just a cliche as some musicians tend to make the same claim. Kudos to U2 for always pushing the envelope, its always been a trait of the band, even with their early albums.

U2 perhaps my favorite band... People talk about how they love their old music and that the new stuff doesn't compare; I mean, yea, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Years Day, With or With You... amazing songs and, well, they've moved on to making other types of songs, new sounds, feelings ect... they can't repeat what they did or else what is the point?... Where The Street Have No Name already exists... why write another one? The list goes on... Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Kill Me, One, Miss Sarajevo, Mofo, If You Wear That Velvet Dress, Twilight, Storys For Boys, Lost In A Moment, Staring At The Sun, Please, Do You Feel Loved?, Lemon, Stay, Zoostation, So Cruel, Until The End of The World, Acrobat, Love Is Blindness, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?... to name a few... So many timeless songs; makes me wonder HOW CAN ANYONE COMPLAIN???

Jesus I remember I was in school, and I based my mini project off of bono, and I remember SCREAMING my head off because I saw a fact on the school iPads that bono was born in the ratunda hospital in Dublin and I said “OMG I WAS BORN IN THE SAME HOSPITAL AS BONO “ 😂: btw that was last week 😂
