Current Professional Player, Colleen Kennedy, is showing a simple passing drill for youth players to get touches on the ball with standards to improve players from where they are at. This drill has progressions to it so coaches can challenge players based on how skilled they are. Coaches can also had skills to this drill.
Phase 1 is to work on keeping the touch close and controlled.
Phase 2 is to help build confidence in one touch passing and for footwork.
Phase 3 is to get players comfortable shifting the ball into space while thinking about the pass afterward.
Phase 4 is for youth players to get comfortable using outside the foot touches while keeping control of the ball. Also, this helps players build confidence to try to use this touch in open play if they can get the touch under control in this drill.
