The arrests should continue thru to court appearances and trials if pleading non- guilty. These kids need to understand there are consequences to acting like idiots and breaking laws or school rules. They certainly haven’t learned that yet on many campuses.

@@Nonya-uj2gv When the protest started people were handing out masks to protect from gas and various ziploc containers to cover up any tear gas cannisters that might be thrown at them. Its pretty hard to line up and push back against a cop batons without realizing there could be serious consequences. I think fafo8888 just doesn't like it when leftists protest.

Their right to protest is protected by the U S Constitution and it doesn’t have a time limit. They can protest forever if they choose to do so, and the university has no right to shut them down. This is unconstitutional, a clear violation of their civil rights. If you dare shout your own rights, you should support these protesters regardless of how you feel about what they are protesting about.
@@syourke3you are confusing free speech and trespassing. They don’t own the campus, it belongs to the university and people can be asked to leave at any point. When one doesn’t leave, they are trespassing. The university can require permits for demonstrations and there are limitations on those permits or they can choose to not give the permit. They can scream at the top of their lungs and that’s fine - that’s their right. Staying when asked to leave isn’t a right.
No one has the freedom of "speech" if in the process of doing so, they deprieve others of their rights. And, it's not "peaceful" protest when you harass, block, chase, beat others, taken over the campus, vandalize, and actively resist the police.
