Purple yam, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and butter are the main ingredients in Ube Halaya, commonly referred to as Halayang Ube, a traditional Filipino dessert. This jam is so creamy, sweet and delicious, and it’s not hard to see why it’s so popular these days!
This ube jam needs time and perseverance to achieve the proper consistency, just like fruit jams. However, once you've made it, you are going to love it!
Instead of evaporated milk, you can also use coconut milk.

Ingredients used:
*(Measurements are in weight and volume)
Ube or Purple Yam (Frozen) - 450g or 1¾ cups
Condensed Milk - 397g or 1 tin
Evaporated Milk - 410g or 1 tin
Granulated Sugar - 200g or 1 cup
Ube Flavour - 1.5g or ¼ tsp
Vanilla Extract - 5g or 1 tsp
Salted Butter - 25g or 2 tbsp
