I tried delivering food for Uber Eats for the maximum possible time in 24 hours to find out how much money I could earn and to see if I could earn UK minimum wage as an Uber Eats contractor delivery guy.

I worked as a courier at WOLT in Denmark four years ago. They payed me a guaranteed minimum wage of £13.85 (120 DKK) per hour even if I didn't got any orders. One Sunday I had a 5 hour shift with no orders, so I just sat in my apartment playing PlayStation and watching Netflix and got my 120 DKK times 5 hours in minimum guaranteed wage. If it was a busy day my wages was between £23.09 (200 DKK) and £28.87 (250 DKK) per hour. I guess it's different in the UK.

@@Holstead I think they want you to treat it like a review. You do the crazy job all day, then give a review (if you liked it or not, if its worth it or not, who it could be worthwhile for, how to improve it, etc,). I am not a subscriber and just clicked on the video as it was recommended. And I do have to agree that the ending felt like it was missing such an element. Just my 2 cents, feel free to ignore.

Tbf. As a student side job just occasional it seems pretty solid. In summer I could see myself doing this for a few quick quids on the weekends. Although no idea how taxing work haha

These jobs are brilliant for students and first jobs for people leaving college who live in populated areas as its still technically experience in a work field. They do work well for students though, very flexible, you work when/for how long you want so not pressure and not life consuming either, just be sure to keep where there is a lot of population/restaurants as if can be dead very fast.

when i doordash i do 2 3 hour shifts in a day 11am-2pm and 4pm-7pm and can make around 300$ during that period its just not worth driving outside those hours take 100$ off of that for maintaining my car and setting aside for taxes 200/6 = about 33.30$ an hour but thats peak. the trick in the US since you basically have to have a car is 1$ per mile minimum otherwise dont accept the delivery

Thanks! It's still good exercise on the e-bike. You don't get destroyed on the hills but it's still exercise, more like a gym cardio bike with a low to medium resistance. But do that for hours on end and you burn a lot of calories

12h is not sustainable for everyday, lower back hurts as f***. I do 25-30h per week and this is my limit, because riding everyday 5h give me enough back stress.

So basically £10 an hour, with no breaks, you have to buy your own equipment, pay isn't guaranteed, all admin work needs to be done in your own time, you're "self employed" yet representing a company for your whole employment, you don't get holidays or pension, union or any other basic employer rights. It's an absolute scam for those working these jobs.

These numbers are pre-tax but Uber doesn't pay the tax for you, you have to calculate how much tax you owe yourself

I think you're going to like my new style of video starting to come out either Feb or Mar 2024 where I'm just trying to make as much money as possible with a cash balance on screen at all times and that tracks across all future videos, where all cash in and cash out are reflected in the cash balance
