So I’m interested in becoming a truck driver. Currently studying for my CDL. My plan was to drive as an employee. Then with experience I’ll buy my own truck…But with these apps, why not just buy a truck and do it all myself right now? It really looks too easy.
If apps will take all the jobs for the trucking industry things will be crushed harshly , but I don't think the Brokers cross the country will be happy about that . Just like the TAXI 🚕 industry crushed harshly few years ago . I don't think it will get too far due to unbalanced prices of each load by weight , distance and timing . Well thanks for infos...
Can you do Uber freight PT or like on your free will ? Once you get your DOT number? I have a career already but want do something like this on the side
Invest a percentage of your earnings in Uber with every load if you're worried about your future in trucking with autonomous driving coming. Just saying....
I’m thinking of getting my own truck, can I see the load board without authority or do I need to get it 1st? Just want to see the rates in my area to see if it’s worth it thanks in advance
Any questions feel free to ask, I'll do my best answering any questions. Also, check out mud flap app for discounts on fuel, it's a great app and I use it all the time. dashboard.mudflapinc.com/invite/a94b2
Big Al my brother, great video. I saw a segment for Uber freight on CNBC and was suspicious so the next logical thing I thought to go look for were driver reviews. question though, you mention you dealt with them for a year and hauled just over a handful of freight 😖 that’s cringe worthy. but I guess I’m guessing you have your own authority. I’m wondering what other platforms you’re using to optimize your business potential. what’s better out there than Uber?
I've got my own authority, I've got one customer I get loads directly from for about 20% of my freight. Coyote and C.H. Robinson are probably my main companies I book freight through. I'm 1 driver with 1 truck, I try to find the best load I can find through multiple brokers though. I've got the DAT load boards, been thinking of doing a video on those boards.
I believe they pay every Tuesday and Thursday. It seems like I always got paid within a couple of days. Uber pays instantly, no fee and no 45 day wait like other broker. It's definitely a bonus they do that.
I'd say you do, but I've seen they're starting a program where you share trailers, it's only available in Texas. They'll probably work towards power only loads eventually. I'd say right now you will need your own trailer.
I made a video on Tesla trucks and give my thoughts on autonomous trucks. There's going to be drivers in these trucks for a long time. I predict autonomous trucks, the government will allow drivers more drive time. Basically you can turn one driver, one truck equal to a team driving truck.
Hi, thanks for the review! I was wondering if you see yourself working with UBER for foreseeable future and what is the prevailing opinion about UBER FREIGHT among your colleague truckers?
They seem to be continually picking up more freight, their rates seem very competitive to other brokers I use. The two main brokers C.H. Robinson and Coyote. I think I'll continue to use them, with more freight it gives you more options, I think I mentioned in the video that I'd forget to look at the app because uber just didn't have a lot of freight on it. That's kind of changed, I'll check out Uber Freight or Coyote first because their apps are the easiest to use and they have the price posted with the book now options. One pain of booking freight is getting ahold of the broker. They work 9 to 5, 5 days a week. You can now book loads on uber a coyote 24/7. What other drivers think, I really don't know. I really don't know a lot of people that do what i do. I'm an owner operator that books my own loads. A lot are company drivers and don't have to deal with this aspect.
I don't know. They do some good things. I'd like to see them force other brokers into having better apps. Where the freight price is listed and instant pay with no fees.
Been thinking of doing a new video on uber. Seems like the rates on uber are pretty bad, and they just don't have a lot of loads. I barely even check the app anymore.
I'm not sure how much that is. I think it pretty much depends on the broker and what they can get. I've heard from from some brokers they make up to 80% on a load, and lose money on some loads. It kind of depends what they can book it for. The closer to the pick up time uber will raise the rate. One night I got home late, looked at the board there was a load I was interested in, but wasnt sure if I wanted to get up first thing in the morning to go pick but up. Next morning when I looked, they were paying $500 more than the night before. I'm sure that $500 cut into their take.
Hey there Sir, I was thinking of getting my own truck and I was wondering if I should also get a trailer with it or should I just get a tractor? Do I need a trailer to move the freight or do some companies provide the trailer?
I have never done power only, I believe TQL and JB Hunt have power only on their apps. DAT load board also has an option for power only. I honestly don't know how many loads are out there for that.
@@SoulOmOn13 truck authority is through the government, get your own DOT# MC # and the regulate you have the proper insurance and license to haul freight.
About 2 days, they say less than 4, but I've consistently been paid in about 2 days. One of the easiest brokers ro get paid from, when you click on the button load delivered, it gives you an option to take a picture of the BOL. That's literally all you have to do.
You need your own authority, DOT# MC#. Get all that set up. Don't think it matters if you lease or own, just need that to get access to the app and book loads.
