They need to update Hyperscape so someone can play as a referee and ping peoples locations in the big city, like a manhunt... or create event modifieres in the game after the first few kills... Also there should be about 21 players no teams for crown rush - each mach lasting 15 minutes.

Just played Splinter Cell Chaos Theory again recently and damn I miss the 2000s Ubisoft.

I never cared for ubi as a company but some of their devs did make good games back then..... splinter cell, far cry, R6V, the GR's before GRAW and people seemed to love the POP series, i never really got into it myself the classics or the whole sands of time thing, I was more on Onimusha, Timesplitters, KOTOR, Hitman and Armored Core in gen 6 and bioshock, fallout 3, forza & Orange Box in gen 7 those all being the games i put the most time into I beat KOTOR like 50x at least and spent IDK how long fiddling with levels in TS or trying to make a cool emblem for my AC's in armored core, or just going through half life 2 a lot gen 6 was my fave oh and GTA was another I played a lot of in gen 6 I'm not that big into mil shooters but liked TC for the covert tactical side and Ubi fuklked it up IMNO

@@laos85 Absolutely not. The side missions were completely atrocious and godawful. Grim's stealth missions had absolutely no checkpointing or saving at all, while you would fail a mission upon first detection. That meant if you missed a single pistol headshot, or if a dog noticed you and barked, or any of a number of occurrences that might happen. And you couldn't save any progress, you just had to start all over again. That killed the entire thing for me. I've been a fan of the series since the beginning, and some of those earlier games had fail-on-detection mechanics. But guess what... the PC versions all had friggin quicksaves so you didn't have to restart the whole damn level all over again! And then there were Charlie's side missions, which inexplicably were all Horde mode-style defend missions that expected you to play the game like it was Gears of War. WTF? How can you completely bungle the entire essence of Splinter Cell by trying to turn it into a Horde mode third person shooter? This was insanity. Let's face it, the new voice actor for Sam sucks. He's just such a generic video game protagonist voice. I couldn't take him seriously as Sam Fisher, it felt so bizarre and off-putting when we've gotten to know and love Michael Ironside's cadence for so many years. This was a huge mistake. Now, Ubisoft Toronto says that they had to replace him because Ironside couldn't physically do the motion capture performance for the game. And uh... I get that, Ironside is an old ass man, but... why not just use the new actor for the motion capture, and then just use Ironside's voice for the voice and facial stuff? The result just wasn't worth losing the iconic voice of Sam. The strongest pistol, the SC-IS pistol, still won't penetrate helmets, so why is there an option to use AP rounds for it? They do nothing. Everytime I saw a guy with a helmet, I always pulled out the sniper rifle. There's basically no benefit to adding three points of damage to it with the AP round upgrade. The dog is hands down the worst enemy in this game. I can handle big armored thugs, or red laser snipers up on balconies... those guys don't scare me. But damn, those dogs that start barking and immediately run over to my position... I fucking hate the things. Worst enemy by far, and you better have a nice handy sniper rifle to snipe them on first sight. Bursting into a train and getting instantly gunned down? This actually happened to me over and over again. You're supposed to go down this train, car by car, gunning down the terrorists along the way. It worked out pretty well at the beginning. You just take cover and shoot down the enemies that are in front. But then you get to a section at the end where you have to climb along the outside of the train and then force your way back inside. Sort of an homage or callback to Pandora Tomorrow, I suppose. Yet, because I was playing on Perfectionist, I'd just get instantly gunned down by one or two shots as soon as I broke the window and slid back inside the car. It just got so frustrating. There's even one section where you play in FPS mode. WTF? There's actually a mission section where you take the role of Briggs and it just completely turns into a first person shooter, with a gun and ADS and you're just supposed to go around shooting guys. It all feels clunky and unpolished and enemies don't react satisfyingly when shot. I mean, if you're gonna turn the whole game into an FPS and disrupt players' expectations, at least make it feel good and satisfying like a casual CoD game or something. But it doesn't even manage to feel that good. Instead, it feels lame and dumb, and the aiming is clunky and not particularly smooth, and then you're pumping a million rifle rounds into a big armored guard and they gun you down with one shotgun blast and it all feels incredibly stupid and clumsy. Why did we need this in the game? People who want to play Splinter Cell don't want a generic first person shooter. And even if they did, they would at least want one that plays well, like a CoD, and not like the poor excuse for a shooter that this sequence was. It's just baffling to comprehend.

@@DeltaAssaultGaming Wow calm down kid. Chaos Theory is a good game with the best looking graphic in its gen with awesome lightning and shadows. But is full of bugs and boring linear mission which barely have stealth approaches like pipe neck snapping compared to Blacklist. Blacklist is a pretty good improvement in gameplay and map design but not so in graphic wise. You maybe suck at the game and never finished it so I understand

If shit like this and Extraction become financially successful, it's the final nail in the coffin for Tom Clancy tactical shooters. They've already been straying away with the damn Division games and recent Ghost Recon installments, but they're upcoming titles will sever the link completely.

Thats not a question that they will raise, because no creative person is on those meetings, just money hungry people that only care about the amount of monetization schemes that can be included. These companies are not lead by passion anymore, now that they have been bought up by hedge funds and investment firms, its why they always just play it safe and copy whatever is popular at the time, no risks at all.

Thats the problem with most free games, its only free to enter, after that all the paying starts when you realize that you cant compete for free, something that mobile gaming is mostly to blame for that has leaked into pc.

Ubisoft hasn't made an original game since For Honor. Every game they make just adds one or two new mechanics to a game. They'd make some RDR2 competitor and have it have auto parkour, drone POV system, some stupid hacking (non of which makes sense in the 1910's or earlier) licenced music as OST and the plot WILL BE about revenge.

You should try the new version of Breakpoint. It's very haphazardly back-converted into a tactical stealth shooter, but it's worth a try to see if the really special parts like the medical system work for you. Make sure to turn the injuries all the way up

For those not in the know Mark Rubin (one of the two figures introducing this trailer) was head producer of Modern Warfare 3 and CoD Ghosts. So not only is it similar to Call of Duty but key talent is literally from CoD and I’d bet money Ubisoft pitched it to investors as “Our Call of Duty”.

I was just talking about this with my uncle the other day. He loves Tom Clancy novels, all the way back to The Hunt For Red October, and he's got the whole collection written by Clancy himself and everyone after him. I was telling him there's plenty of video games with his name on them too, and that he'd be rolling in his grave with some of the crap they slap it on.

The problem is that AAA developers look at what's popular and make something cookie-cutter on purpose. This is because the formula and its popularity have been established, and from an investment perspective, it's safer to do something that is a proven concept, rather than go back to something that was once popular in the past but would be potentially riskier to bring back. Conversely, this is why I love indie games. They take risks on new gameplay ideas and are fresh and more memorable because of it.

They can't even chase trends in an imaginative way. Division Survival was the best battle royale, why not invest in that? It's still on trend but with enough of a twist that it's feels unique.

To be fair, ubisoft hit it out of the park lately with their big IPs. AC Odyssey, Rainbow Six, Far Cry, the Division, For Honor, all pretty much were home runs. If anything, stuff like this is more of a throwaway to see if it works rather than something they really care about like their big titles.
