I have had the opportunity of meeting this woman! She lived with me for a little while in America. She is a very humble woman who is a queen in disguise. She sacrificed her life and came to America alone just to lead her family out of Zimbabwe. Her strength and fearlessness still amazes me. Many blessings to this woman!
As Rumi says, "I am not this hair, I am not this skin, I am the soul that lives within." You are a beautiful soul Getrude with a great heart! Keep up the great work!
Getrude you are extraordinary. Your endless innovation where social justice underpins business building and leaving behind the structures for others to become self-reliant and grow. Just fabulous.
So moving and emotional. Gertrude, thank you for sharing your story. I have only been two Africa two times now but I fell in love with the people of Africa. You can't go to the continent without coming home a changed person. I so applaud all that you are doing to help your people.
This woman is amazing! She gone through an incredible journey and is a life force everyone should take note of.Getrude is an amazing role model for all peoples. The world could be so different if everyone had just a small amount of her moxy.
WOW, this was amazing. Thank you so much for your vision and your dream Getrude. My coach Terry Hickey urged me to watch this video and I'm so glad I did. THIS is what truly Inspired Action truly looks like. It's the not the "it breaks my heart" videos we see so often from internet marketers trying to get you to buy their stuff. This is not about buying - it's about buying into. It's about enrolling others in a shared vision of how amazing life could be if only they stepped up. And not for themselves alone, but for others too and mostly - the Ubuntu that we are. This kind of Inspired Action empowers people to help because it's the right thing to do, and we feel it in our bones. Tour de force. Brava!
I am so moved and touched by your beautiful soul sharing and authenticity. I have been in deep contemplation about the word UBUNTU and really feel my heart is aligned. A place I felt conflicted is how can there be so much pain inflicted on the women in Africa when this is a saying in Africa? I imagine not everyone embodies this philosophy? And I love the idea that if everyone gave $1 in the world we’d restore places hit by disaster. You are inspirational! Thank you for living your life boldly!
This speech gave me constant goosebumps and brought tears to my eye! You are an incredible example how Gods work is done through a human form. I feel so blessed to have come across you and so looking forward to the podcast conversation with you 🥰 Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing me what is possible 😇
I've came across this awesome video when I was compiling my Law assignment about Ubuntu, this have touched my depth soul and I started following your posts. I'm an upcoming writer self from South Africa and I was really motivated by your other video "How to write a book in 40 hours..." . I'm very proud how my fellow African strong woman have motivated me this magnificent way. I thank you so much and really hope others will learn from you like I did.
Truly inspirational...THANK YOU for using your voice to heal and share your heartfelt story, it touched me very deeply as a South African myself...I hear you Sister, BLESS YOU xxx
I met you in August 2008 at Akasha and connected with you because your story resonated with my soul 200%. The Universe found a way to meet you online in the most hidden and unpredictable way for the second time in September 2014 and your story resonated with my soul as strongly as the first time! What next? I don't know and don't need to know but the Universe knows, that is all I need to know! Thanks for coming back into my life Woman, you are a blessed 'Black Angel'! Gertrude Matshe is such an inspiration, she proves that if you have a vision and continue to take steps towards that vision you can manifest anything and create change in the world. Thank you Gertrude, you are amazing.
You have inspired me to create a fabric print with the word Ubuntu during our world wide lock-down. Any sales will be donated to the feeding funds in South Africa.
Getrude, several moments in my life are so powerful they will be with me forever. Meeting you is one of them. I am thrilled to see you on the TED stage. Brilliant presentation. And about your 8-Oscar movie...GO AND WRITE THAT SCRIPT.
I wanted to start up company with this name and I found out this video when I was researching about it. Thank You so much for the message and thank the almighty God for helping you to deliver this.., God bless..
The language of the heart ty sister. My grandmother is also my guide I was in tears when you reminded me. We have forgotten the balance the mind and logic are being promoted due to money's (currencies's) hold on the world. I wonder when myself We will start to shift back to balance.
Touched😢,,from kenya, changing my course to kiswahili and history,,we should not loose the future leaders of Africa. We should have our own African language.
Everything we know or think we know about the world, about ourselves, is a story. We live as much what our imaginations write upon our hearts and minds as we live what circumstance dictate. Even that is a story, telling of life itself, and in the retelling is living itself. That's why sharing one's story is so important and creating common metaphors is so necessary. Here is another culture's 'real life' "Once Upon A Time." Today I learned a new word to add to my own story... "Ubuntu."
That is a very inspiring story. indeed WE live in a very richest Continent in the world. Ubuntu, make us realise the VALUE of life that is lived serving others. One's abundance is for us ALL. We believe a child is raised by the community, our approch is that of COMMUNAL rather than being INDIVIDUALISTIC.
I feel you sistah. I am not like the others, i am not like the rest. I am not typical. My purpose in life is from direct revelation also. Not many people are going to get you. but your work doesn't require their understanding.
✨🙏✨we are amazing. Thank you for your amazing, beautiful loving affirmations. Hiv is not aids and most probably not related. Love all. We must only learn positieve placebo and het point out the danger of nocebo ✨✨❤️✨✨ Thank you for your gift 🙏. Words van be spell. Spell love and hope and Fortune 😃
I think she referred to Africa as a country intentionally, not out of error. She tried to identify her origin not just by her individual country but Africa itself.
Most Africans feel that Africa should be a country rather than just a continent, in the same way Australia is to unify Africans. We know it is not, but we wish it was.
Absolutely amazing.... now the thing that is even more crazy is that this philosophy has so many similarities to following God. Universal principles will never die no matter how they are translated.
Nah i wouldn't say that story does not represent African women,,, yes i agree not all African women go through what she described but a large number most certainly does. I say so from an African woman's point of view.
