This is complete hindsight, but it was obvious that BYU played like they needed this game more. The Cougars decided to claim the ball as their own, and refused to share. The talent is there for the Knights, you guys just need to figure out how to play winning football with the talented roster. It all starts with finding a QB that can throw. Hope you can get things turned around. Go Cougars!
Good points you make gentlemen. This Coug fan is very nervous about this match up. UCF is very talented and hungry. I hope the Y can match the intensity.
Mike, BYU fan here, great show! I think Vegas gave BYU a gift here (I know that's not actually a thing) but BYU has thrived on people underestimating them! ...to answer the question in your title: BYU (and) the B12 need this more. Any undefeated team obviously will benefit more by staying that way (not to mention the conference) over a team playing spoiler, though, of course, we still want your best game!!
Looking forward to hearing the post game recap excuses. Much disrespect from Vegas and the polls. I hope they do the same for the rest of the season for BYU. That will give them all the fire they need. Go Cougs!!!
Mr Gittens…great to have you in the Locked In group for the Big 12. Really like your insights and takes. Welcome! Hope you’re wrong this week tho! 😊. Go Cougs!
BYU has one bad game against the run because Gundy pretty much drew up a new offense for his team during the bye week and suddenly they suck donkey balls at run defense. Here’s my prediction, BYU holds UCF under 150 rushing and blows them out by 17+ points.
This was a really well-informed & honest analysis. Thanx. While I do think the spread being slightly against my Cougars in this IS a bit of a joke, the Knights are dangerous enough I can't be mad about it. I watched most of you guys' match w Iowa State (got totally sucked into that cheering for you dogs). Your DT is massive & crazy long & mobile, & your team energy & speed combination might be the best in the conference. My HOPE is we can at least match your energy, cuz as much as our team speed's improved, we will not match the speed of you guys. As for the deciding factor of why I do believe my Cougars will prevail in this, is that your young stud QB is obviously dangerous, but his immaturity & impatience were some of the biggest reasons ISU was able to get back in that game. If he can grow up big before tomorrow, I'll admit we're in serious trouble to not only lose, but to maybe lose big. MIke, your pt about the consequences of a loss are not only valid -- for us Y fans who've thoroughly played-through the scenarios, we realize that a single loss not only likely eliminates us from Playoff birth, but could easily take us outa the title game, too. As for Prime's Buffs getting in the Playoff by virtue of Prime magic -- I DO agree w that as a real possibility (which would be exciting), but I think for that to happen for the Buffs as a 3rd-place Big12 team that doesn't make the title game, I think some things gotta fall into place quite neatly. (1) I think one of our teams has to end up a Top-5 team (& therefore beyond reproach). I therefore think that probably comes down to we or Iowa St having to make it as an undefeated conf champion. I HIGHLY doubt the Selection committee even sniffs the idea of a 3rd Big12 team otherwise. (2) It would also require that KState (who owns CU) ends up as a 2-loss 2nd place team (& likely a Top 12 team). Their two losses would be very respectable losses, either both to BYU or to BYU & ISU. If you're gonna let in a CU team that finishes out dominant, you'd have to include their daddy Wildcats as well. While I do agree the Selection Committee would go to some lengths to take Prime's team, I also believe that if Prime's Buffs AREN'T in the picture, they'll be looking for every excuse possible to not give the Big12 so much as a 2nd playoff team. So, really, the Buffs best chance is for KState to win the title. Because the Buffs play neither ISU or BYU, there's a chance the Selection Committee could weasel them in as a 2nd Big12 team & leave we or ISU (or Cincy maybe) out in the cold.
This was a great read. Thank Hank you for stopping by! This week I’ve learned what incredibly thoughtful and insightful fans BYU has. Please come back and help us continue to grow our community here!
@@LockedOnUCF Absolutely. You guys did great. We do got a lot of great fans at BYU, but sometimes -- for all that BYUtv is -- our independent media folk aren't the most personable or as well-rounded as a lot of their Big12 counterparts. I trust we'll learn & get better, though. Opponent passion, & the outlets & the independent commentary in the Big12 is a whole lot better than anything we've ever experienced before. It's a lot of fun. I'm wasting WAY too much time with it. ;)
UCFs defense not getting enough nice things said about their improving last week. Look at first half. Unit tired due to 2 pick six AND 2 quick offensive 1-play scores. Say u, I say that took a toll. This week UCF puts it all together and wins a close one at home. UCF -6
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I’ve got some dynamite content on tap and I’m hoping to bring you guys some stuff you’ve never gotten before. I appreciate this comment so much. We’re going to work out asses off for y’all
Andrew is talking about the ACC and blatantly leaves the unbeaten team from Florida totally out of the conversation. Lol As this is a UCF page, I won't say their name either lol #GoCougs
