This match showed the Tactician Sir Alex Ferguson was! Another interesting point is that so many players from this game went on to become great managers ahead.
The only manager in the world that Lippi himself has respect for. As a matter of fact,Lippi and Sir Alex are the best of all times, and they publicly show affection for each other.
I watched this game, both of them, it was a very hard time for Juventus since the absence of Alex Del Piero. Despite this huge blow, Juve made it to semifinal.
Fun fact: Del Piero was there for AC Milan, but United had an answer for him in the form of Ji-Sung Park. That's what makes Sir Alex one of the best, he always found a way(Except he screwed up against Barca by not playing him)
Yeah its fresh commentary like it was added recently.... Everybody remembers and loves the the itv commentary from Clive. Plus they missed the two biggest talking points... Scholes and Keane been booked..
Italian and Spanish football were powerhouses back then. What United did at that time was beat the best of the best these games were tough I remember them like yesterday. We fought till the end in every game.
I want the entire 90s and early-mid 2000s back, with all of the good and bad. I've never been a happy, or lucky guy and I have been constantly been bullied in my child and teenage years, but even so, I don't hold grudge against most of my bullies when I see the pansies and the easily offended and triggered losers that I see today. If you asked me, mankind goes downhill. Instead of getting grittier and better as humans we get more offended and sensitive to anything and everything under the Sun. I don't like this type of society and I hope everyday when I wake up to see it gone. I hope that it's all just a bad dream, but it's not.... that's why I want the 90s back....
It was not Zidane's upset that threatens team spirit, but Inzhaghi's lack of football intelligence. He was a good striker. But that's about it. His game was limited in other domains. I have been watching loads of older games and I often observed this pattern.
People talk about those 10 days in may 99 when united won the treble but often forget the hard work united had to put in April to make it all happen. Injuries to key personnel, that villa Park replay against arsenal, hanging on in the first leg against juventus, coming back from the abyss in Turin. And I remember both the German and Italian fa helping bayern and juve to accommodate their European run by adjusting their kickoff dates and times, united got absolutely nothing for their troubles from the English FA. Less than 48 hours after this match united had to go to elland road for lunch time kick off against leeds. Only managed a draw, arsenal beat Boro and went top of the league.
@@omalone1169 It was years ago Bryan Robson scored twice, Frank Stapleton scored the other and it was the Barcelona team with Maradona. The Utd fans got on the pitch at the end and carried the players on their shoulders
United struck the post 2 times in the away leg and i thought it was not going to be united nights because previously we absolutely dominated dortmund in the semifinal but didn't took the chances, struck the post 2 times, got ball cleared of the line many times and lost those semifinal.
Have seen great footage of them playing, but for me it has to be Rooney + Ronaldo... That's when I started watching football and that team (2008) made me love the game
Once again a great Juventus side that almost nobody remembers. Juve bottled so many UCL campaigns (just talking about finals, they lost 7!) that people, especially younger ones, don’t realize how great this club really is, on level with Real, United, Liverpool, Barca and Bayern in terms of history
@@davidc7419 Man United fans are so delusional, just think de Gea only won Europa league like 2 times, peter has won the champions league and champions league>europa league so yeah, the man u fans are so delusional
@@legendarysportmastercaster4536 Schmeichel isn't better than De Gea because he won a Champions league which De Gea hasn't yet done. Hell, if that were the case, even Claudio Bravo's better than DDG. Schmeichel is better because he could command his box and was a mentality monster!
*Man United vs Juventus 1-1 (1st Leg)* 0-1 Antonio Conte (25 min) 1-1 Ryan Giggs (90+2 min) *Juventus vs Man United 2-3 (2nd Leg)* 1-0 Filippo Inzaghi (6 min) 2-0 Filippo Inzaghi (11 min) 2-1 Roy Keane (24 min) 2-2 Dwight Yorke (34 min) 2-3 Andy Cole (83 min)
So Scholes started this game as a reward for scoring in the lasting against Milan, and then was dropped for the 2nd leg, whilst Keane was the main man!!! Thank god, I thought I was going crazy with all these Scholes career revisionists going on and on about him when Keane was easily the best CM at Utd 😅 phew
