At UCLan you’ll have access to our new laboratories housed within the purpose-built J B Firth Building, which will provide you with a world-class teaching and learning environment, complete with state-of-the-art equipment, enabling hands-on experience of the latest techniques.
UCLan was the first university in the UK to utilise dedicated crime scene houses, a vehicle examination bay, office premises and a blood splatter analysis suite. Our dedicated criminalistics laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge equipment that mirrors those used in practice for the analysis of a wide range of physical evidence including glass, hairs, fibres, documents, ballistics and tool marks.
