Decent game from our Huskies. Still, way too many missed lay-ups, bad passes and turnovers. Not UCONN basketball yet. Paige and Aaliyah need more scoring help. But certainly happy for the win. Louisville and Marquette might be tougher games.

Man, those missed bunnies have been a problem for a few years now. I don't get it. I thought CD was in charge of the bigs but maybe it was Shea. All I know is post post-play has deteriorated in the last 5 years. Mainly because they HAVE no bigs but still. Bunnie after bunnie missed. Only Aubrey seems to make them and much as I love her all-around game she is a blackhole on halfcourt offense.

I really hate coach’s offensive scheme.m this year!! It doesn’t generate easy buckets. The number of give-n-go and back-doors, staples in past years, just don’t exist in this offense. Assists are few and far between because this is just a horrible scheme for team basketball….it doesn’t fit the players he has and feels more appropriate for an NBA team with lots of isolation and 1-on-1 game. Coach needs to go back to the drawing board and come back with a scheme that suits this team. If it weren’t for Paige’s Herculeanall efforts to work for her own shots, the team would struggle to score 50. Nika needs to slow down and eliminate her turnovers. Today, she had six and all were bonehead plays, not initiated by defensive pressure, just dumb decisions. She always plays one speed faster than she is capable of playing. It’s a bad trait carried over from last year. She’s a senior so it’s time to clean this up!!! Glad to see her being more aggressive on offensive and contributing so much more, but she is a turnover factory. Aubrey needs to start shooting wide open 3s. Every team is backing off of her and she’s a decent 3-point shooter, but it’s like she’s been barred from shooting. It makes no sense!!! And then there are the 10-12 points per game of missed layups and 1-2 footers. Several veteran players seem to panic when presented a gimme shot. It defies logic, but it’s been a constant with certain players over the last few years. I really hope coach revises the offensive scheme because this current one just doesn’t produce offense. It poses little threat to the opponent and relies too much on players creating their own shot, which only Paige is currently capable of doing. The lack of assists should be all coach needs to see to realize this scheme just doesn’t work!!!!! I hope Paige realizes that she needs to be very aggressive and that she needs to score 30-40 points/game to give this team a chance to win. Follow the Iowa/Clark example. The talent dropoff after Paige is huge so Paige needs a monster scoring season to give the Huskies any chance for a successful season.

On point unfortunately. These players haven’t played UConn ball since 2016. No give and goes, fast breaks, offensive rebounds. They just shoot themselves in the foot when they lose. The freshman class shows hope that they will get the program back on track!

You are correct I hate to say. It's like he's trying to impose an antiquated system on players, and a game that has evolved beyond 2012. Specifically, bigs in the middle. I hate to keep beating this horse but every other top team went out and got some beef for the middle...except UConn. Jana is more finess but we really don't know until she plays.

Your wingspan - on average, and based on the Vitruvian Man (Da Vinci) - if you stood straight up, extended both arms straight out, shoulder level, with palms facing down, the distance measured from the tip of one middle finger to the other roughly equals to your height.

All yall nba players, these athletes, are the ones yall should be chasing, not them, insta girls if yall were smart

Hmmmmm if half of these girls were straight, they would maybe? Katie Lou Samuelson and Kelsey Plum are two of the few who did!

Let's be honest ok. Edwards is good but she is not a center Geno plays her in that position ok.she is really a forward. What ever is wrong with this girl DeBerry game and mindset at 6'6 a ball player body I seen her in person. I would put her at center and Edwards at forward you want to see a different team at Play I see it but you're don't see it that way.
@musicman7982
@musicman7982 6 месяцев назад
You're absolutely right. I can't understand why Geno didn't recruit more height; every other top team went for it. Even Jana (healthy or not) isn't enough. I expect DeBerry to transfer. For whatever reason Geno doesn't play her in games. 3 game minutes is not enough to tell so we have to assume that she's shit in practice.

She needs to be more consistent and learn to rebound better. She has brain lapses during high pressure games but has improved a lot.

lol. Paige defers to everyone at Press events. Watch any of their behind the scenes videos and practice videos and Paige has all the gravity, everything revolves around her energy and there is a simple no comparison in the respect teammates have wrt their games
@JH-eg7mq
@JH-eg7mq 6 месяцев назад
@@cbrend22 hahahaha yeah, but yesterday Paige gave Aaliyah a “WTF” look after she came down and blocked the NC players layup and Aaliyah stood there and watched another NC player GET the rebound and blow past Aaliyah to score a shot! UConn was out-rebounded by 8 on offense and 2 on defense and 10 overall. Aaliyah got 16 points but she typically misses half her shots, including freaking layups! Paige was working her ass off to bail out this team up till the fourth quarter. Paige is shocked how bad her teammates are. Period. This was Nika’s better offensive game but Paige gets little help! .That is what you see on her face in the press conferences. Disbelief!
@davidhunley4982
@davidhunley4982 6 месяцев назад
Rather have her making threes(1) than blocking shots!!!
@kay-lee8571
@kay-lee8571 6 месяцев назад
It’s not all about making threes 😂 for example Lebron James is one of the best basketball players ever and he isn’t essentially known for just making threes. He’s good at EVERYTHING. Far, mid, and close range, he can do it. Defense he can do it. Being strategic, he can do it. I’m not saying Paige is as good as Lebron, but she’s decent in all of these areas and that’s what makes her such a good basketball player.
