This old man scares me. He simultaneously looks as if he has one foot in the grave, whilst also looking as if he could snap me in half. I do not like this feeling.

After the double bum slap....I stopped watching and started reading the comments to find gold....I was correct ....haha thanks everyone...great minds think alike
As someone who actually has done Uechi- ryu conditioning, I can confirm that it does take a lot of strength to perform this exercise. I can also deny that our instructors stick their fingers into our ass cheeks while doing it. I've also been punched in the boob. Karate is fun.
It reminds me of Naruto when Kakashi rams his fingers up Naruto's butt calling it something like "Forbidden technique: 1,000 years of death jutsu". Basically you make a gun or an L with both hands and then clasp your hands together interlocking your last 3 fingers on each hand. This is Japan's version of a corndog.
@Trap 50 foreal ? Or are you joking ? ... What did I do to deserve this from you ? Im going through a real bad time right now ... I just recently loss my Mom and by Brother-in-law in one month ... If your are joking ... I don't know you well enough to joke with you on that Level.... Why would you come out the side of your face to a stranger ? This is a very lonely time in my life ... How do you know if I am not litterly insecure about my appearance ? You've got to stop talking to people in general like this man ... its inappropriate and might be taken wrong .... You would do this in person and be fine ... Im vary aggressive in person ... you dont know what Ive been through... Peace God Bless
@@Felix-M. I hope you find clarity in your life brother I know the lonely and depression phase is tough but you will get over it and don't worry life will only get get better
Thanks for recommending this in 2019. Now I know that Uechi-rya is the best conditioning for being prepared to be punched in the throat while carrying groceries.
Tiny Dog you’ve been playing too many video games if you think that he doesn’t have dimension to his muscles lol that’s what being shredded does it adds dimension
This is also a strongman event, it's one of the hardest if that tells you anything with just only a few people in the history that have really stood out in the event.
Do not mistake him being skinny and dehydrated for being ripped. There's a vast difference between muscular vascular, and being 45kg and not one inch of fat.
having no fat and being dehydrated is the definition of shredded... The dude is shredded, regardless of how much muscle he has. it's also worth noting that despite how skinny he is, he doesn't look starved. He might not be bulky but he does have lean muscle, and he's obviously fit.
The body type, his dedication to grip training and his appearance in general makes me think that he's exactly how Bruce Lee would be if he was still alive.
It’s funny I thought the exact same thing as I was watching this. Those Far East guys just have those muscles that can be conditioned deep into old age
I had a teacher that practiced this in the US, he helped me alot in my life. He was able to see that I had been previously abused due to tension in my body, and my mannerisms. I usually hide such things very well, but he did break me down quite easily. He was the kindest man I'd ever met. He was amazing, thanks Oliver
This is a handed down practice from the originator of uechi Ryu. He went into the mountains and trained his grip with pots filled with sand. What a legend.
This stuff was deadly af back before firearm era began, but now it's just to keep up traditions and legacy. Unless there's underground world where martials arts are crazy shit, but that's prob just too xiaxia
What you mean “fuck Saddam”? He was the reason for stability in the middle east. Now you have Turkey, Iran, Syria, and more countries in the region so out of line with their corrupt authoritarianism... Countries like Saudi Arabia funding terrorist organizations. Now, Iraq is a shitshow, too. All the politicians are there for money only. When Saddam was in power, he used to fuck up all the terrorist organizations. Chaos has exponentially increased in the region, since his demise. Bush’s administration was foolish for triggering the chaos... There were never nuclear weapons there | دربوج
I mean never too late to start loving Karate... no matter how obscure the teacher. I’d hop to Goju-Ryu (I train in it even though it’s technically well incorporated into Kyokushinkai), Shotokan (also in Kyokushinkai but I don’t train in it formally), and Kyokushinkai (my primary art, my secondary being Catch wrestling, and 3rd being Dutch Kickboxing).
+Mr Peter lifting weights and knowing how to fight are two different things with some similarities. A guy who lifts and takes "roids" can easily beat the living hell out of most people you would see on the street. The point of lifting weights is to build a aesthetically pleasing physique. The point of learning to fight is to develop fighting skill and learn the art as well for physical conditioning.
I used to Practice Karate then Lift Weights, It was Synergistic and I recovered from injuries in Days that took others weeks to recover from. There is a Place for Weights in Karate.
Mr Peter well without gloves a palm a lot of the time is bigger. It comes from Tiger style, so it is more about breaking, stunning, and ripping than always hitting. Of course they CAN hit you though.
Master Seiyu Gushi, if you wanted to research him. He was taught under the Ueichi Ryu style of karate under the guidance of Kanei Ueichi. Sadly he passed a few years back
Back in my teenage years, I and a couple of friends were supposed to be the best of the best in our Karate dojo. We won several competitions, did a number of demonstrations, and were then invited to Japan as part of a cultural exchange with the head dojo of the style we followed. We were tough, could take massive punishment and thought we were God's gift to girls and the martial arts. We started training with a Uechi-Ryū dojo as part of that exchange, and even when working with some of the mid-level sensei, we still screamed like a bunch of little babies when they got their fingers into us. Painful, enlightening and humbling, I decided that I never wanted to get within 10 meters of one of these guys, even if they were wearing mittens.
