This is why I was inspired to even start this journey. I can't wait to gain this much experience, and have that type of confidence when confronted with those that do not believe in the power if uechi ryu. When I first started Bunkai were very elusive and the student was forced to "figure it out", RU-vid was not available, and the internet was still "intellectual property". Thanks so much for these videos.
Its the sound of his gi (robes) that he's wearing. Certain ones that they buy are more stiff so when you move in them they have that kind of sound. Great to wear to tournaments.
@@mikeshomegardening8150 thanks for the answer, im suprised they're that stiff. Wouldnt that be a bit difficult to fight in, if your gi is stiff enough to make the sound of a cracking whip?
@@noahjones9833 there are different gi made for different purposes. Many karate practitioners own more than one gi. Lighter weight ones for fighting, and a heavier one with more snap to it for kata because it will grab the crowds attention.
pangai noon kung fu influenced uechi ryu but that doesnt mean that uechi ryu is a kung fu art. According to my research kanei uechi (son of kanbun uechi and founder of uechi ryu karate) greatly systematized uechi ryu karate and make it as real looking karate
That elbow punch is SUCH a sweet technique...it can be SO devastating, especially since that fist is right there to knock the person flat on their butt. Seisan has some amazing applications. So much fun to watch a master in action!
