Just to stop the arguments, a quick look at his wiki says "4th generation Korean", which means his great grandparents were Korean, a lot of Japanese mixture in there, plus his name is Japanese. If he's proud of his Korean roots and Japanese at the same time, then he's both, leave him be.

whatever you know about akiyama. If he is a japanese national fighting for japan even using the japanese flag then even if he is from Mars or jupiter then he is Japanese. If what you are talking is by blood, do you know his parents and descendants are if they are Japanese or Korean or in reality they are of mongolian and chinese ancestry?
