There's no denying that the art of submission has had a role in the 20 years of UFC history, which is we are showing you the greatest ground game wins in the Octagon!
Welcome to America. Nipples are out of bounds, not to be seen for fear of corrupting minds, but graphic beatings, dismemberment, beheadings, etc., that stuff might get a PG-13.
@@weeeek1933 thats not cap, you may have a huge bias towards to jiri but he did got beat up and pulled a sub at the last minute If they had leave to the judges glover wouldve won
6:45 Frank Mir Vs Tim Sylvia. Everyone in the arena was booing the stoppage and even the announcers questioned it. The only person who saw Tim's arm break was Herb Dean. Best ref stoppage all time.
@@rishabh_sk_kashyap9693 It wasn't the elbow joint, it was the bones in the forearm. Mir had the armbar a little low, but still had enough leverage and strength to break Sylvia's arm.
6:50 Man, Tim Sylvia was a beast. Had a broken radius bone from that arm bar and still managed to pick Frank up with that broken arm and slam him into the mat a few times before the referee stopped it in order to prevent Tim from doing greater damage to himself. I remember Tim actually fought with Herb over that stoppage and moved his arm around to prove it wasn't broken, but after the x-rays it was proven that it was broken, and Tim later thanked Herb for stopping it.
+Biglollol Hey I was just reading the comments and came across your profile pic and thought you were really cute. By any chance are you gay or bisexual. I am 30 year old gay male seeking a boyfriend. What I love about grapplers in the UFC (and in general) is they can submit you even from the most undesirable positions. Notice how some of these submissions takes place from positions that are generally considered non-advantageous. You would not ever want to be on your back in a fight, unless you know Jiu Jitsu...
For the guy who tapped and then kept fighting after he was let go... every opponent he ever had after that probably held him a little longer and a little harder in their submissions.
+kicks is life Id much rather be in a submission because I would tap out so quick if I knew I was not getting out. With Knockouts they can still get 2 or 3 headshots in after your on the ground
That Anderson Silva moment was just spectacular. Watching it live made me really really nervous because I'm a Silva fan and seeing him lose his title was devastating. That submission was just a great moment
Forest over Shogun was a shocker to everyone. When Shogun showed up to the UFC, they were basically feeding Forest to him, and Forest pulled out the submission. Was an incredible moment for him.
Isiah Daniels Technically, that's strangles you're thinking of. Most of the "chokes" in Judo, BJJ etc are incorrectly named chokes, but are actually strangles.
dougodude101 Power of the adrenaline. Try to sometimes get very angry and punch a wall or something and u will notice how much the pain comes behind after the punch.
nope if you watch it in slow mo they were pretty light taps as if he was trying to reach his leg but couldnt and after he "tapped" he continued to fight. no one taps and continues fighting. refs fault but at full speed and with a fighter in danger it was the best bet
#13 is one of the most unique triangles I've ever seen. Speaking of unique triangles, Anderson Silva's lanky frame allowed him to lock in triangles like literally nobody else was physically capable of. I'm happy to see three of those on this list.
Vince Haddad When I was young, I didn't get ground game as much as I do now. I loved the stand up action, as I grew up, I could only watch the brilliance of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ground game, its amazing in MMA. And the submissions? Always great!
Not gonna lie when I was younger I just saw it as 2 men just like laying on each other which so I saw it as pretty gay but I really enjoyed the stand up work. As I've gotten older a respect the ground game much more.
Am i the only one who watched UFC in the mid 90's when there were no weight classes? But yeah soon the sport will become a major world tournament, i dont mean olympics, but in a class of its own
Anderson Silva is truly a legend in the sport. I honestly can see him being in every top 10 greatest moments or moves cause hes done so much. Hes definitely also in the greatest knockouts list.
@@user-ii3kn8zz1k If it does promote violence, then they should've rewarded Khabib for his antics after the fight rather than giving him a suspesion. It's a sport
I really miss the golden age of the UFC when it first became really polished/professional in the 2005-2012 timeframe. At the same time you had WEC events. On any given weeknight on cable during some of those years you could get UFC unleashed, WEC WrekCage, and PRIDE highlights(from Japan) with many of the up and coming UFC stars showing up in the PRIDE and UFC unleashed replays. It's practically all I watched after work in those days.
@Chad Barrett Yes I know that breaking someones arm is allowed, but why possibly take the risk of permanently damaging another fighter's arm and damaging their future? It's just a dick move.
I think just after years and years of being in submitted positions it’s probably just muscle memory and he didn’t even realize he was tapping cause he was in such trouble
Part of what makes these fights great is Joe. He knows how to call it and gets extremely excited which pumps me up as well. You can tell he loves this sport.
That's how you know Anderson Silva is the best to ever fight. He has top submissions even though he is known as a striker. He is definitely the best all around fighter of all time.
4:26 submission 11 was my favorite that double flip was crazy and still have that arm and finish it and that twister 5:38 with only 20 seconds left LOL
4:47 That shoulder got popped right out! God that must hurt! Respect for not wanting to tap out, but idk if gettin it go that far is the right choice tbf
@Et Immortalem You just said "There were tons of more superior moves displayed in the video" then followed up by saying "There is no single best move... The best move is the move that is best in the position you're in." While I agree with you that the twister isn't "higher level bjj", I don't see why you go out of your way to discredit Jung's perfect execution and then go on to contradict yourself. If you're a practitioner of martial arts, please treat yourself and the art with more respect by being instructive rather than smug and hypocritical.
Et Immortalem bruh you know nothing you try the twister u would probably get reversed because you don’t know how to body lock and everything else on the list was stuff you learn on day one of being a white belt
Not if you consider the context of the number one pick. Chael was dominating Anderson for over 4 rounds and they're both highly skilled on the ground, Anderson did so well to get that triangle in and effectively choke him out with it to defend his title in the fifth round. Also Chael apparently landed the most strikes in one fight ever.
Every time I watch that Carlos Newton choke, his arm muscle is so insane, it looks so devastating of a choke. Also Nate Diaz flipping everyone off is instant classic.
