The fight was stopped reasonably correctly, once Weidman came to, he was pretty upset about it. Mousasi is right. Fight, dont play the ref. Lets move on, whos next for Mousasi?

MJBOGAN -meh...utilizing rules is part of the fight. the thing I wonder about is if weidman was unable to continue because the knee was thought illegal and not continuing would secure him the victory.

Well Tom, the rules are there to let the men fight, if you stop fighting and decide the important thing right there is to not defend your face, you deserve to eat knees, IMO. Certainly Weidman was too hurt to continue initially, I expected Mousasi to finish him in the moments after that pair of well placed knees. So working from that reasonably clear assumption, the correct outcome was achieved, and whether Weidman could continue after 3 minutes rest was never the issue. I was happy they drew the line at 1 mistake and didn't let the fight continue, as Weidman would have been beat down to a pulp in front of his family. He has got some mental demons after losing so devastatingly and repeatedly. He was a much better fighter when he was undefeated and had a strong mental.
