Knew these cymbals back in the day (1987). Great manufacturing quality indeed. Unfortunately they did not sound good. They were far too thick. Around 1988, Atlas (made by UFIP) came out with the SR series cast B20 cymbals. And they were great. Well made, and sounded wonderful. Mine is a 16” dark crash that also functions very well in a jazz ride capacity, and has a great bell tone. I’m very happy to see UFIP has not only survived, but also are now selling a range of excellent cymbals.
Rotocasting is the secret sauce. I've been playing UFIP for 16 years, one hit and you know the REST are all toys. The splashes are a thing of beauty and truly hand made.
I have been using UFIP dishes for about 20 years. I used Paiste 2002, but I also had a sabian AAX set and a Zildjian Avedis set. All are very good, but UFIPs are unbeatable. Clean, refined, crystalline sound, without overtones, for live performance they are excellent and for the studio, they are simply unique. Thank you for giving me so much pleasure when playing, UFIP !!!
Lucky to have met Alberto and the cast of UFIP many years ago in Italy. Maybe they've grown but when we visited, had it not been for the cymbal on the door you wouldn't know that these are the finest cymbals made in this small village. I've had the luxury of playing many brands and without a doubt they are the finest cymbals in the world.
To my ears the best cymbals in the world! I’ve been playing them since 1994 when I got my first pair of hihats after literally doing a blindfold test of hihats in Wembley drum centre. I was young and didn’t know what to gel with the money I saved up. So thankfully the shop assistant suggested doing a blindfold test and let my ears decide. There I am blindfolded in the shop as he swaps hihats of all brands on stands around for me, as I play them. One stood out head and shoulders above the rest…. I took my blindfold off and I saw the name Ufip… ? I’d never heard of them before that day… but I fell in love with them and have never bought anything else since! Now my ufip cymbal count stands at 31 and counting! LOVE ME SOME UFIPS!
Всем Добрейшего! И чего у меня только не присутствовало в моей работе))... И старые-старые "Trova", и "Super Zun", и "SABIAN", и от "Zildjian", и т.д...)) А в середине 2000-х случайно услышал в Германии "UFIP")). Загорелся моей новой мечтой!)))... Потом услышал новое и новое))) Но, мне совсем скоро уже 60)))... Лет становится всё больше, а денег всё меньше))) UFIP Vibra - 15"+18"+19"+20"+22", похоже, так и останутся в моих мечтах😀😀😀 Но, никогда нет повода для грусти☝️😊 Сегодня, что у меня есть, с тем и продолжаю работать, играть!😀👍 Всем Добра и Мира!🙏😀✊🥁🥁🥁🎶
I love the visuals... but this "epic" orchestral soundtrack thing has been completely overdone by the video game industry. Would have preferred the sounds of the workshop instead...
Talk to any drummer about quality cymbals, and you’ll instantly hear names like Zildjian, Paiste, Sabian, Meinl, and perhaps Wuhan. Without a moment’s doubt, all are great brands and I’m lucky enough to own several of them myself. UFIP never seems to get its due, these processes obviously lead to amazing sound. If I had the bucks I'd swap out my Paiste Alpha ride for one of their "Class" models in a heartbeat.
Why Ufip dont want to upload some samples of their hand cymbals (as Sabian did), so we could hear the sound? only little factories like Bosphorus (and Paiste??!!) dont upload videos and you have to order hand cymbals without be aware of the sound.
