I assume you've never seen the cybertruck? I mean it's quite clear that they took one look at the Lagonda and said "we can make that even worse".

Anything from the last 10 years has the highest percentage of hideous cars.

The Cybertruck should be #1-10.

I have often said that a 1975 Ford Maveric looks better than any modern car today. Well, now I can say that it looks even better than a 1970 Marcos Mantis.

So many of the vehicles here are just unmemorable, not truly ugly.

The Aston Martin Lagonda has a special place in my heart because when I was a kid, there was a magazine that came with cutouts that you were supposed to fold and glue together to make a little model car. My paper Lagonda with it's sharp creases and flat surfaces matched the real Lagonda PERFECTLY and I was so proud... Today, it would be the Cybertruck, I gues...

Wow some of these cars are design classics and to my eyes at least look amazing (in a good way). Certainly not the ugliest cars ever made.

The Consulier was shaped by aerodynamics and structural design. It is a race car that can be driven on the street. It follows the design philosophy of cars like LMP and Daytona Prototype road race cars...which nobody seems to throw any shade at. I've gotten to ride in 2, including the one shown with the "BANNED" plate on it. VERY fast! They ride much nicer than you'd think, too as they have cantilever suspension front and rear.

The Lagonda is super cool looking. Also the Renault Avantime. And many of the other cars mentioned are not exactly good looking but by far not "the ugliest cars ever made".

The Matador was a triumph for AMC. It was beautiful and different from the 3 Three offerings using the best of tried and true AMC mechanics.

What? Alfa Romeo SZ? Are you crazy? Where are Pontiac Aztec, Saturn SL, Ford Focus CC, Citroen Ami, SsangYoung Rodius, Daihatsu Sirion, older Toyota Prius, Mitsuoka Orochi, Porsche Panamera etc.?

I had a TR7 (in Java Green) for 8 years. I had it just because I liked it, but other people seemed seriously impressed with it, in a 'I was told without asking' type way.

The TR7 IMO was an eye Catcher. I'm a retired Professional Wrench. Early in my career (1974) I was Rebuilding Rotary Engines at a Mazda Dealership in Covina California, in 1976 the Dealership added British Leyand Motorcars, I switched Lines and of all the cars I ever drove and repaired (many Makes included but not limited to Audi, Porsche, Maserati, MG, Rover and Range Rover), the Jaguar XKE turned the most heads followed closely by the TR7

The Aston Martin Cygnet was awesome! Definition of muscular short squatty. It's like Mario from Nintendo started working out and got buff lol.

The insults here are the best part. Three cars I had never seen before. The Consulier, the SZ, and the Korando. Well, at least they strayed away from the standard AMC Gremlin, which many people think is rather interesting without being ugly. And the TR7, while not being worth a magazine cover anywhere, was far from 'ugly'. And it was, indeed, one of the safest cars ever built. You certainly cannot get in much trouble when the car won't even drive out of the car port.

The tv commercial jingle for the Cimarron was "Best of allll . . . it's a Cadillac!" What that really meant was, the only redeeming feature of the ugly pos car was that it had a Cadillac badge.

The SZ came to be because someone made a concept car, equipped it with impossibly large wheels, impossibly thin tyres, impractical doors, windows, air intakes, etc, and then someone else came up and said: "that looks cool! let's put it in production!". True story.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Ugly is only an idea, completely subjective and up to the viewer. How you can call some of these vehicles ugly proves just that.

I still love the look of the TR7 and the similar looking Fiat X-19 and even the 1st gen Pontiac Fiero.

I don't agree about the Lagonda, Camargue, the Cimarron, the SZ, the Lumina, Aurora... You seem to mix things up, not being successful or reliable does not mean ugly, then I guess tastes are different

I can't agree with some of your statements. The open-topped TR7 or TR8 was the original concept and Harris Mann made a great job of it. The US threatened to ban open cars, so the roof was added. The Renault Avantime is a glorious anachronism if you have ever been in one. Really comfortable and with no pillars in the side window areas. Ugly cars? Start with the new crop of BMWs, XM in particular.

haven't seen the video yet but i deeply believe that the ugliest car ever made is Multipla.

The single uniquely ugliest travesty of a motor car design was the Ford UK 1994-1998 Mk.II Scorpio. There are many ugly cars but that 2nd generation Scorpio is the only one that still boils my piss. It's so ugly that it's the only car ever made that I would not accept as a free gift. Even worse, a) it was the top of the range executive Ford model, b) the previous Granada based Mk.I version was lovely to look at, like the Granada itself.

The Renault Aventador was ahead of it's time. A decided market failure, it's way more practical, more efficient, cooler, and generally better car than ANY 5 seats SUV, only losing out on a comparison of "which looks like a tougher car", and the consumers want the one that looks tougher. Doesn't HAVE to be tough, just LOOK tougher.

The Latin suffix -ia probably originates from Turkish -iye as Turkish is much older, ancient Turkish been over ten thousand years old. Spelled in different languages in different ways to phonetically resemble (to sound like) '' Türkiye '' we got various spellings like; Turquía (in Spanish), Turchia (in Italian), Turquie (in French) Turkei (in Germn) and Turkey (in English) all trying to resemble the pronounciation of ''Turk-ia'' thus Turkiye. Did you know in the movie Demolition man Stallone crashed through an Olsmobile showroom featuring an Aurora driving a classic 442. If your a car buff, there are several GM concepts in the film.

The Citroen DS held the title for many years, until Pontiac developed the Aztek. But Elon said I can do uglier than that.

The 1995 Olds Aurora was not ugly. But it did need more performance That year, the 4.0 did not have that sort of power that a car of that type should have had.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so if you are going to make a list of cars that lack beauty, you must be careful that you are not just picking cars you don't like and instead choose cars so bad that most people would have to agree. This list is far from that.

Disagree on the Camargue. Certainly controversial at the time but respectably attractive now, I reckon; similar is true for the Ferrari Mondial 8 which was universally reviled on release but now looks rather sweet. Also, why single-out the SsangYong Korando for its escape into Europe when the odious Rhodius followed it through the tunnel, as did the Musso - which is particularly discordant in double-cab pickup form. The presence of Merc’s 3-litre turbodiesel is a sweetener in many SsangYongs but it’s no compensation for the post-cheese-nightmare aesthetics. Congrats on skewering the Multipla though; the world (and especially BMW) would be richer if Chris Bangle had never been allowed to own Pantone marker pens, let alone use them. Still, beauty and beastly are both in the eye of the beholder so there’s no wrong answer to a question that nobody asked.

I loved the first generation Aurora's styling and features. The Cimmaron was a demonstration of short term greed that damaged the Caddilac brand. The one I saw was quite luxurious but felt like a Cavalier.

Top of the list should be a Nash - any Nash - from the mid-1950's. The 1958 would be perfect. Then 1950 GM cars - Buick and Oldsmobile especially. Then, on to Chevrolet Avalanche. Pontiac Aztec was, presumably, made in an attempt to keep Avalanche from being the ugliest thing on the road. Did the plan work? You be the judge.

So, let me have a take. The Marcos actually made me laugh. That is one ugly son of a bitch :) The Matador is ok I guess. The TR7 I like, especially as the TR8. The Lagonda is a legend! Lots of quirks but great looking. The Camargue is not really pretty, true. The Cimarron.... well.... The Consulier... well. The SZ is a classic and very brave. The Lumina is a classic fail. Skylark... a good example of another American design fail. The Aurora is actually cool, don't you think? Ssangyongs are ALWAYS ugly. The Multipla... well... It kinda is a classic now, it is so ugly, it became cool again (like the Aztec, tbh). The Avantime is extremely cool and desirable! The QX and the Jeep... well.... The Misuokas are like Ssangyong. And the Cygnet you are showing is the Cygnet V8, which is amazing... the rest... well. nothing special here.

I too disagree, my brother owned a 1976 TR-7 . I raced it against a Datsun 240 zed and completely embarrassed the zed. That makes the TR-7 look that much prettier.

I like the Matador, the TR7 (and the Fiat X/19) and actually bought a brand new 1986 Pontiac Fiero 2M4. I also like the Lumina, and especially the Pontiac TransSport. I liked the looks of the original BMW Mini, but everything that followed was garbage. I still wouldn't buy one, because anything made by BMW IS garbage, no matter what it looked like. Any list of ugly cars has to include the 1979-1993 "Foxbody" Mustang. It was one hideous car. It looked like a cut and folded cereal box. The "aero" front end in 1987 made it look even worse. It was a complete mismatch. The Foxbody represents the darkest period in Mustang, and I feel it was an insult to the Mustang to put it on such an abomination. The Ford did it again, putting the Mustang name on a computerized battery powered 4 door toaster oven. Ford doesn't seem to have a clue what the Mustang name means. To be fair, the 6th generation Camaro was almost as bad. It lacked a front end altogether. Just a HUGE blacked out area with holes in it.

The 2 door Aurora was a good looking car.

That Rolls is the one I think that Ford compared the US Granada to lol. Yep. 'Bout right. The Cimarron brought together luxury car lovers and people who had never seen a Chevy Cavalier lol. What a scam. I worked at a Chevrolet dealership parts department when these were being produced, and they were constantly dropping their clunky glued on trim panels, revealing the Chevy beneath.
