Ugluk's Scout Army Showcase ~ Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game 

I've been playing ugluks scouts for the past few months, and have some insights: 1) Keep ugluk safe early!! He is a pretty basic hero, and doesn't have any fancy tricks to get out of tough situations. He is very important in the late game, his courage pass is crucial and having Heroic Strike after opponent's might is exhausted is one of the very few tools the army has to kill big heros. He is important late, and doesn't have a huge impact early. Play him like the cowardly Uruk he is! 2) Having priority is important for this army, you need to position troops for bonuses and you need to avoid being outnumbered in duels (low defense hurts). Use might often, you have lots and positioning will get you more kills than Heroic stuff. 3) high defense armies are difficult for this LL to cut through, and your low defense and no spears means you will take losses every turn. Surround and trap the opponent, don't let only part of your army get engaged. 4) this LL takes up a LOT of space on the board, lots of models and you are one rank deep. This makes it harder to maneuver, practice makes perfect! 5) Drummer has Courage 4, once he has done his drumming duty use him to charge terror models or other courage stuff. His sacrifice will be remembered at the victory party 😀 OPINION TIME: 1) The uruk captain with two handed axe is the MVP in the list. Give him an orc helper and a nearby banner, and he will be a monster. 2 D6 (piercing strike) +2 wounding dice is very consistent, unlike the rest of this rabble! 2) Current list (650 pts) has 14 orcs and 26 uruks, plus 5 leaders. I take 2 spear orcs and 2 two-handed orcs, and pair them up into two teams. Add in a random uruk, and you got a sweet little kill-team, good for eating warriors. Have fun putting meat back on the menu!

Beautiful! The very first army I got when I started this hobby earlier in August. What a showcase! The painting scheme is so cool! Love the cow skin drum! I have to agree with everything said about metal models, so much more value. I prefer having models with the tendency to have some chips over the flimsiness and fragility of plastic. One of the reasons I got into mesbg and not age of sigmar were the metal models, plus my love for Lotr obviously.

Regarding the metal vs plastic they can absolutly do plastic as detailed as metal if they like to now a days. Just look att some of the stuff they have done for 40k and AoS. But I guess the Lord of the rings models is a bit older.

Really enjoy these showcase videos. I don't have any wargames mates so I have no one to discuss the finer points of the game with. Really interested to hear your comments on the pros and cons of the army, the tactics you use and what figures you find useful, and what you do with them. Also the conversions you make and painting schemes.
