I share in other viewer's comment; real happy to see Brad on Ventrac sponsored video. He is very trusyworthy and always willing to share his knowledge and experience using the Ventrac. This particular video was a good tutorial on using Ventrac attachments to resurrect a patch of dead lawn. Thanks for sharing.
Good video for using any tractor with appropriate attachments. The only attachment really special is that grinder-tiller for hard ground that was also doing box blade work after the loader work. That one is something I haven't seen from anyone else.
I'm tempted to buy one, use it for a year to get everything in order and then sell it. At least, that's what I tell my wife, I'll really keep it and then use it as an excuse for a bigger shed. :)
Can do the same with other tractors... This does demonstrate a good system for fixing a problem. and some nice attachments on a small tractor. But this is more about the operator and having a good plan.
Every time I watch 1 of there videos my jaw is wide open lol just thinking of past jobs that literally took me days to do solo that could have been done in hrs with this monster lol . AGAIN,,, 1 DAY LOL
Great helpful video. I am new to Ventrac. What was the depth on the power rake set on ? I sure wish you could give some suggestions on what to set the depth on the power rake for different projects. Such as reconditioning a gravel driveway or for turning up already killed grass for replanting. Some of us new owners are inexperienced . You have so many great videos on the different attachments , But what the cutting heights or digging depths should be. sure would be helpful.. I bought the Tough Cut mower, the Power Rake and the Power Bucket with Grapple. I plan to buy more attachments in the future. I am not a business just a home owner. Thank you.
rag top, please come on over to my RU-vid channel. I explain a lot more in depth regarding the different attachments and how I use them. You can also ask me specific questions over there
Good question! It all depends on your goals. For moving dirt, go deeper with the side wings down. For leveling, a shallow depth in the .25" - 1.00" range usually works well. It's also condition dependent. Moisture, type of material, etc. will all dictate how deep you can go and still maintain your desired speed.
I know the tough cut is very capable, but i was wondering why VENTRAC doesn't offer a flail mower attachment. Also, isn't the contour and wide area mowers both basically doing the same thing?
Flail mowers are awesome :) We'll dodge that question for now. On the topic of wide area mower vs contour - the WAM is just a much simpler deck... less moving parts, no articulating side wings, etc. The contour provides a better cut in really uneven terrain and the WAM is better at knocking out as much grass as possible on flatter terrain. The contour deck is more popular on golf courses as a trim+surrounds mower. The WAM is a more of a multi-purpose, budget option.
The price of this machine is in my opinion a little high wen compared to a subcompact tractor. They will go out of business when Kaboata or Deere builds something similar to this
www.ventrac.com/products/attachments/kh500 We've got that too. Honestly though, unless you're lifting high, the simple bucket shown in this video is faster and more convenient to use.
