What if the sacks are placed on cement floor outside?
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 5 месяцев назад
No problems, just ensure the soil are well irrigated and properly applied nutrients

I prefer using cement sacks though... Black polythene will cause heat. And Cement sacks won't need making holes at all
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
I like cement sacks too But opted for polythene because it's more cost effective than cement bags and the heat generation / retention would have no major effect on Ugu though, as its a tropical crop and would not be affected by heat retention by the sacks. Plus, I also considered the fact that we don't really need so much soil to produce ugu, so we just went for something well fitting. But, even with cement bags, proper agronomic practices or management is key to having a great vegetable at the end of the day. Thanks for sharing your thought ma'am.

Please what can one expect from these 100 bags during the week/month of harvest and how long does it take before harvesting?
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
You should be able to realise about 5,000 to 10,000 every month

Great work sir. Pls I have one question that no one has never answered. How many seeds is needed for a plot of land. Pls kindly reply. Thanks
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
This is determined by your spacing . Using 60cm by 50cm I recommend for beginners, you'll need, about 2,222 seeds per plot. The seeds needed can either go up if the spacing is more close or less if the spacing is less close.

I saw somewhere that 4000 seeds is needed for an acre. That's not true I guess... And ummm can I use ridge to cultivate them as I have already existing ridges in d farm or must it be beds
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
Beds give better results, as you maximize your space using beds
@omotoshodaniel159
@omotoshodaniel159 2 года назад
@@ChidavAgriculturalHub But during harvest, does that means we shouldn't be expecting it to also reach the seed production (pods) stage if we're to use sunken beds??

Are the sacks open to allow air circulate?
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
Yes they are. And this sacks are used for experiment and update videos would be released on things and areas looked at, so as to help Ugu farmers manage their fields better.

A lot of confusing videos on You Tube. Some say face the pointed part downwards others say it should face up😂
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 5 месяцев назад
Let me ask you, if the pointed part produces the root and the flat sided produces the vines, which one should be facing down or up?
