Hi Chidav, Thank you so much! I've learned a lot from your channel. I got about sixty or more fresh seeds recently from Nigeria. It's winter here so I created a small green room in my basement laundry room and planted the seeds on January 21 using long planter boxes of depth 10" and some grow lights since it's not recommended to keep the seeds. I thought the ugwu seeds were no longer viable since I left them out for two weeks but the ugwu sprung up and is so vibrant and is vining almost to the ceiling. They are very close together though because I thought I would transplant them to their own individual containers but it is still freezing here. I think I may have to harvest before transplanting. Questions please: How many days should I wait before the first harvest and should I harvest first then transplant or transplant and then harvest? I will really appreciate your input on these three questions. Thank you for what you're doing! 🙏
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
Good to know 1. We leave them out for like 6-8 weeks before first harvest here. But considering the fact you have them in an enclosure, you may want to harvest as soon as the length of the vines are as long as one's arms length or above the elbow of your hand. Do well to check out proper ways of harvesting. And please don't trim your plants just yet. 2. Harvest before transplanting. If you don't harvest and transplant, the stress of moving the plant from one location to another with the vines would affect the current vines and they would lose vigour.

Thanks for your feedback. For the irrigation materials, which is the drip line, you can get it from sometimes people selling plumbering materials Just tell them you need a drip tape
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
Note also, you would still need some other parts to the drip line

Hello CHIDAV I’ve been following you for some time now. Can I plant the seed straight from the pod? Also how do I get customers to buy it sir? My farm is located at onibuku Otta. Awaiting your reply please.
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub Год назад
Yes, you can plant directly from the pods. However, you can allow the seeds dry up a bit before planting. Go to the local market around and make enquiries on how they sell

Please I really have a question on ugu vegetable. I planted vegetable pumpkin in sac. The color of the leaves is not all that greenish. I sensed deficiency in Nitrogen, so I apply Poultry manure on it last week. Yet i haven't seen any improvement
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
Did you perforate your sacks? If not, do that and observe. I sense they are water logged. And hope the manure you applied also has not leached off it nutrients due to maybe where you kept them?
@obiloragrowtech
@obiloragrowtech 2 года назад
@@ChidavAgriculturalHub The sacs are well perforated and the water goes off. About leaching off nutrients. Where and how do I keep the sac that can result to this. Cos my sacs and on the ground.
@ChidavAgriculturalHub
@ChidavAgriculturalHub 2 года назад
Ok good to know the sacks are perforated. Another thing to consider is also to check if the water is not too much in the soil, and if the sacks are not place in water logged ground and all that. Again, you need to know manure are not readily available to plants. For these, try getting urea fertilizer and combine with the poultry dung. But ensure the poultry dung is dry or well decomposed.
