Join me for 24 hours on the beautiful Chesil Beach In Dorset, Its great to be back out filming on my favorite beach. As always, I really apreciate your support. Wayne
Wayne, I think I’ve watched all of your vids or close to it. I find them informative and entertaining in equal measure, however this has been the most powerful to date. Sharing as you have helps those of us who fish and particularly fish Chesil, explain why we travel so far and why we love it so much. So a big thanks to you and Mrs Shorehunter and the younger Shorehunters for giving your time and resources for my and other’s entertainment. From my perspective at least it is greatly appreciated. Good luck and congrats on the first 10k subscribers.
Watched this video its the first time I've ever watched you Wayne. Just inspiring hearing about your life. From someone who has suffered with a few mental health problems. Fishing is my escape, my peace. Funny enough exactly where you are is my favourite spot. We should meet sometime and cast some lines. I don't get out enough as it is. Life can throw some random shapes in the mix but keeping an eye on that goal forward is key no matter how cloudy it becomes.
Fishing is my therapy. It’s the only time I don’t struggle with depression and anxiety. Catching fish is a bonus. I actually record the sound of the waves crashing wherever I’m fishing and listen back to them to help me sleep sometimes. Watching your sessions is almost as therapeutic as being out there myself. So a massive thank you Wayne for helping to keep me sane. Huge congratulations on hitting 10k subs. I can only see the channel going from strength to strength. You’re by far the most entertaining angler on RU-vid and I for one absolutely love what you do. Keep up the amazing work and I’ll continue to stay subscribed and watching every video. Awesome stuff Wayne. Thanks for everything buddy 🥰
@@TheShoreHunter got a couple of minor issues going on Wayne, but nothing I’ve not tackled before. The older we get, the less indestructible we start to feel! Mental health, addictions, physical frailties all add up, but they’ll not keep me whetting a line here and there! Still need to find myself a big ray from somewhere! Who doesn’t love a big beautiful blonde eh? 😉
Thanks for the video and the pep talk.... what you say is 100% correct... 1 second 1 minute 1 hour...a fishing session can be more help than hours with a therapist.... love the way you speak openly about mental health... its a great help to me and im sure many others to...keep at it and stay safe...
Great video as always, top effort Wayne. I get out fishing to get away from the stresses of life. My mind always on overdrive. I lost my Dad last year and think about him all the time to the point it drives me nuts, fishing just takes all my thoughts away for those few hours. I feel rejuvenated after a session. Tight lines mate, all the best 🎣🎣
Well done on 10k subs my son and I love the channel. He’s been fishing since he was 4 yrs old with me and now he’s the teacher and I’m the pupil 😅 glad you are well mental health is so important. Great vid as always
A great video Wayne you are so right about how a hobby / interest can do so much for peoples outlook on life, well said. Good to see you back on Chesil beach.
Thank you Wayne for sharing your life story, there are lots of us I’m sure who can relate to your experience. I’m so glad that life has become good again with your hard work and the support of your lovely family. I’m glad to say that I’m a subscriber and really appreciate your fishing channel. Thanks Wayne
Been enjoying your videos lately, great stuff. We are planning a chesil trip in october so find them really informative. Keep it up! Tight lines - TheHooky2
Cheers Wayne.:) This week you've been extra-specially objectionable, so, as the harshest punishment I can impose without breaking the Geneva convention, I shall air my grievances in the form of a poem. From cod to mackerel, skate to hake, We love the videos that you make. To share the knowledge you have to teach, BTW, Can you catch shingles from a shingle beach? Testicle flicking, coffee table clipping, You gave a fox a right good kicking. ...But avoiding blanking should be your mission, So shut up Wayne, and do some fishing. Good luck in Southampton. mate. Have fun. :)
Hello "Just Wayne the fisherman" nice to learn you're doing well. It's been my experience in life, that the best Humans are those who've been scratched & dented. Their Humanity really shines through. & that's beautiful. Thanks for putting in the hard yards in making these videos. I enjoy them immensely. Good info, good banter, good bloke. What's not to like ?
Love your videos, Wayne, and appreciated hearing your story. I'm sure many of us will have similar experiences and it's OK to share them, the problems are when we keep things to ourselves. Keep on fishing! 🎣
Hi Wayne, what you talk about is what I call 'lock out' been there and being able to clear my mind for just a few hours saved me. That's why I love fishing. Take care. ps. Gardening has a similar effect. Laters.
Congrats on the 10k subs, and well said Wayne, as someone who has struggled with poor mental health in the past I can 100% vouch for getting out doors fishing👍
Amazing bud and about time too totally deserved that 10k. I get yaWayne, fishing or just being by the sea is my chilled out happy place to. Cool vid as always 😁👍🏽
One of your best vids Wayne, have to admit to a bit of a lump in the throat on your story, and just great to see where you are now. I shall be there in a couple of weeks after my prostate problems earlier this year. Will be my first time for nearly 40+ years. Doubt I'll be able to yomp the distance you do (74 next month) and how you manage to hump all that gear I'll never know. Have to stay nearer the car park. All the very best and congrats on the 10k subs, a great achievement.
Well that was an epic! 100% agree with the sentiment. The main reason my wife tolerates a garage full of fishing gear and manky bait in the fridge is because she knows I will come home from a session a better person - her words, not mine. And when I can’t go fishing…..I watch you, so keep it up 😉 Cheers!
I used to go walking (about 30-40 miles on a saturday and sunday) so I know exactly what you mean Wayne. You might have some crap days fishing but the best catch you had is you wife and Kids you should be proud of them mate. ifnothing else I get a laugh watching youbud, keep up the good work.
We've had a bad summer this year. Was hoping to get out fishing this year but never managed to. Did get out with my brother a few weeks ago on his sailing boat but guess what? No wind😂. And now he's sold it😢 gutted. Was hoping to get out with him and do a bit of fishing... hopefully next year will be better.
Congratulations Wayne mate I could write a full page on how much you have helped me with my fishing but reading the comments it's all been said. You should be proud of yourself 💯👌👍
You know what i said between us and just knew there was something. Im a very good judge of character my friend 😊 Well the fishing was tough like trying to catch a halibut hey. Stay safe and keep banging out the vids 😊
Hi mate. The reason why you succeed and you’ll continue to succeed is because you personalise your content. I relate to that and it’s clear many others do also. Love your work, it’s top class Wayne 👌🎣❤️
Lovely episode. Hearing your story was an unexpected. Sorry to hear you've been through so much in the past but so lovely to hear of your recovery and how happy and settled you are now... xxx
Well done 🎉, I have a question maybe you can help me out. I went fishing and my pulley rig was made with 40lb line and fish cut it off and I lost it, what tips you have in this situation so I won't lose the fish next time ( the fish was quite big )
Been watching from the start👍 did think you was a bit of a dick at first🤭 but i love you now bro 😘well done on the 10K and more ✌✌Always a great watch, always great effort, stay safe, stay well, see you out there 👍👍
Thats why i love your vids u is your not a bad fisherman and pretty much down to earth fella . Been pretty much down and out nearly lost my missus and kids but turned a corner cos they r everything . And fishinh a close 2nd
Hi Wayne sorry to be deep by I also suffer from the demons within I walk every day in the new forest with my dawg which gives me great comfort but I am only truly at peace when I am fishing by myself or with my close friend whom also I feel also gets solace from the waves and the peace as I do
id absolutely love to visit chesil beach sometime but its such a mission away i practically live at the other end of England. it would be the dream heading down there and having a banger session loads of different species and a specimen cod wow. always have beautiful sunsets there too
I know the feeling Wayne I've had to start over as wife finish with me and had nowhere to go but I'm getting my life back on track but can't fish at moment so mite as well watch it instead great video keep it up
My Wife loves me to go fishing Every Friday she practically pushes me out the door saying, don’t come back until Monday 👍 She is so keen on me fishing she gets the weather man to phone are house regularly through the week. Every time I pick up the phone, a man’s voice on the other end says Is the Coast Clear? 🤔
Well done wayne u pulled yourself from a very low point to where u r now good on u mate its a inspiration to others to get out and forget about there problems even if just for a while but it has to start somewhere.you r doing a great job and takeong time to help others .when some other fisherman cant be bothered to help or advise anyone and that is not a nice sort of person to b ...u keep bringing us these great videos we all appreciate them.all the best mate👍
You sum up the draw of fishing for me almost perfectly, before the event concentrating on the research, gear, venue, preparations gets your mind in a resolved place, and getting the bite pulls your mind into an absolute singular focus - all of the stress and clutter in your mind is swept away into a single track of get the fish, land the fish and so on and a series of those in a row give your mind the time to be at peace and not preoccupied and overwhelmed by the daily stress. I think all sports and hobbies that pull in your focus so absolutely are so widely followed for the same reason.
Thanks for your honesty about life then and now. Unfortunately so many people struggle ,and never find the light at the end of the tunnel. Your videos, and words of compassion, will I’m sure will of help a lot of people see the light at the end of the tunnel. Amazing achievement on the 10k subscribers.
You ain't wrong, I've had PTSD for ten years and fishing is my release from my brain fog. One of my son's has depression and with the help of my other son and our fishing it makes our lives and the rest of my familys lives easier. We watch your films as much as we can
Very relatable Wayne .we all have shit times but you have to keep going . Been there were you dont want to do anything at all after loosing everything but those dark times pass and fishing has been the one constant in life that gets my mind clear : ) Like you said . Talk and share you shit and it helps . Had a few Codling last week at Abbotsbury with my son who now has his own two lovely Daughters : ) Keep your head up lads x
This vid hit home for me too, as well as so many others. Keep it up Wayne it’s a great channel and allows us all to come fishing and clear our heads when we can’t actually get out fishing ☺️
i always love the videos you as a person wayne have such a good personality and always make the time to make us laugh thanks so so much keep up the good work
10k very well done and so deserved. Always a real pleasure to see and hear you on the beach. You always deliver. I appreciate the hours and hard work you put into every session. Here's to the next 10k. Take good care. Stay safe. Tight lines 👍👍
Just watched your latest videos , powerful words Wayne and an amazing turnaround . 10 k subscribers , hopefully a lot more to join up as its well deserved. Have been in a very dark place myself , was very ill with SLE Lupus , which caused kidney failure and needing dialysis , my amazing beautiful wife gave me a kidney in 2014 which has enabled me to watch our son grow up and become a great young man . Could not fish for a few yrs due to above illness but lov e my fishing again now thanks to my family. Do get to fish Chesil ,not as often as I like as its a bit of a trek from South Wales but feel like I am there quite often watching your RU-vid vids , so keep up the good work and all the very best to you and yours for the future ,cheers Paul
