So, by popular request - or even demand - we are building ourselves a park through time starting with the park which was set in 1930! Based on Golden Acre in Leeds, this little park hosted a ballroom, boating lake, multiple rides and attractions plus the world famous railway. Since the war it has become a fully fledged theme park and now that Disney is on the scene, we really need to up our game.
Well, you love your realistic Planet Coaster parks, so go around one more time and go for series number 8. Blimey. This time we are coming after Paulton's Park, Drayton Manor, Wallibi Holland and Chessington World Of Adventures. Set in the UK and started on a blank map.
Thank you so much for being an awesome community. I've set up a membership if you'd like to say thanks or buy a beer (a bit like Patreon; just on RU-vid). It's £1 a month and you can dip in and out as you want. Thanks so much for signing up. I post exclusive updates to members only... Click the JOIN button for more....

Using realism I’ve learnt from my experience of working for a real-life theme park company and over 4000 hours of Planet Coaster play time. Using true-to-life principles, we walk through each stage of the build reasons why things are built in a certain way- as well as some top tips on how these were achieved too by pulling them apart for you to see. As the project progresses, I’ll release the park for you to enjoy, so please make sure you Subscribe to stay in touch! I'm the two dollars twenty of Planet Coaster apparently...
What if Cedar Fair opened a park in the UK? Would it look like Alton Towers? Thorpe Park? Or would it take on the form of more American parks like Cedar Point? Canada's Wonderland? Or would it be more themed like DollyWood, Legoland, Busch Gardens or SeaWorld? Oh, and don't forget Six Flags too! What about China? I hear Flying Kiss theme park in China is a good one too! Well, one thing is for sure, realistic Planet Coaster parks don't come much more realistic than this and let's be honest, other Planet Coaster Let's Play or Planet Coaster gameplay videos won't give you the real reasons why things are as they are. Where do you place rides, rollercoasters, shops, paths, plazas, car parks, entrance areas, tickets, turnstiles, maintenance sheds and so on? I'll tell you where as we up the Planet Coaster Realism game! This is more than just a Planet Coaster Tutorial; this is a Planet Coaster best park ever!' Just so you know, my realistic series uses Planet Coaster Sandbox. It's time to get Planet Coaster real! Episodes with rollercoasters also have rollercoaster povs too. Don't worry if you're stuck for Planet Coaster Entrance Ideas - this episode will sort you out. This is how to start a park. AND if you like the build styles of Themepark worldwide, bro nation, silvarret, maskedbandit, mike sheet, deladysigner and rudi rudikmental then you might just like this! We have very similar planet coaster building style. I wish I'd get noticed by Mr Beast haha

As someone who grew up with Kumba as their favorite coaster for a LONG time, this warms my cold, Thoosie heart. Also, Chacho really has that US Government attitude where he just buries his [REDACTED] with lots of dirt and walks away lol

Just gonna point out that this series is literally just for us because like… no one would take hours building and supporting a coaster just to delete it unless they were doing it for the RU-vid

That is exactly what this series has become!! And each one is getting more and more painful to delete! If it weren't for the fact that I've put the 1960 and 1990 file up, I'd be devastated.. but they live on... so it is all good :)

I absolutely LOVE the turn after the zero g roll. It’s just perfect for the era. Multiple B&M coasters had little awkward turns just to get from point A to point B. The layout is pretty much perfect.

I commend the work you put into this game .. I load into planCo with an idea and usually just stare at a blank canvas before shutting the PC off and end up creating nothing . Lol your work discourages me because I always want to go the realism route and never succeed in it 😅😅

hmmm no pre drop is no pre drop? I believe that every sit down looper expect led zeppelin had a pre drop to release tension on the chain. In '94 it definitively would've, and yes i know im being that guy.

No pre-drop on the lift like 100% of B&M coasters in the 90s?

Well spotted, sherlock. Although, I must ask. When the creator quite explicitly says "don't try and correct this, it is 100% correct, trust me I know my stuff thanks to working with B&M in the past and here's 4 mins of commentary outlining every small detail about layout possibilities in 1994" was your first thought to do exaclty that?

@Nerdchacho

The admin burden across the years is bad enough... let alone doing a through the year format. Blimey, the series would never end.. I think the trade off is multiple year gaps but forgiving the fine details that are missed until it is time to redo or you're forced to update

Sigh. Here we go again. Before you start to make comments about pre-drops. Yes, pre 1999 B&M coasters had pre-drops, but they weren't always *needed* for straight-off-the-lift drops. They were built in because they were consistent and helped the chain motor, yes, but they would have been fine without them. The pre-drop on straight-off-the-hill drops was usually included to aid the prevention of rolling off the hill during an evac - but again, not needed; so I've chosen to not have one.. What they had and what they needed are 2 very different things. Remember that my builds are based on what is possible, not what you've seen.

@stephballchange5050
@stephballchange5050 8 месяцев назад
My take is that the “well actually” is just people trying to help with the park being even more realistic - it’s not a critique of your skills in any way. Your attention to detail is fantastic especially with the coaster profiling, so it is frustrating to see things like the missing pre drop . en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolliger_%26_Mabillard#:~:text=client%20theme%20parks.-,Lift%20hills,stress%20on%20the%20lift%20chain. The first ride without a predrop didn’t come around to the mid 2000s, the reason being that the lift chain motors were then able to accelerate to match the speed of the coaster dropping, tech that wasn’t available in the 90s. The good news is that you absolutely do have the space to add in the predrop which would ultimately make the ride as realistic as the rest of the profiling
@Nerdchacho
@Nerdchacho 8 месяцев назад
So.. there actually isn't room to fit it in there... and I deliberately edited out the part of the video that talks about why it wasn't there..
@stephballchange5050
@stephballchange5050 8 месяцев назад
@@Nerdchacho ah right, eyeballing it I would have thought a slightly steeper ascent and a tighter transition would do it. I guess something we’ll have to live with 😅
@Nerdchacho
@Nerdchacho 8 месяцев назад
Yeah, that's the thing.. When I was chatting with a guy at B&M, he confirmed that in the 90's they didn't NEED them, but they had them for the reasons you outline above. I cut it all out because it was 2 mins of me waffling about lift hills. It is what it is and creative liberty was made to fit it into the space thanks to where the dive loop is.
