Rising rents and a shortage of affordable housing are key issues in the upcoming UK general elections. Stoke-on-Trent, in central England, is particularly affected, with thousands of residents living in hostels, temporary shelters, or on the streets. Al jazeera's Milena Veselinovic reports

How hard is it to build some flats for young people? If you dont't have a home you cannot work and the mental health could cost more for socitey. I think the housing crisis and NHS going down is actually intentional. Why though?

They are not building more houses or renovating the empty office buildings or other empty properties because they don't care about people. They care more about foreign policies and invading countries and creating division within

In a lot of other countries UK people ie non native people are not allowed to buy property, full stop; only rent. Or they have strict immigration rules like Singapore has a 60% tax at purchase for foreigners and 65% for an entity or trust. This needs to be replicated in the UK now.

This is all done intentionally honestly there are so many houses built but they are not put on market reason been too many student came to England and if is crises they can maximise rent so much from student and poor country will lose money... the student will bring money from back home and local will suffer but economy will flourish It's a very poverty way of doing things but don't forget we have an Indian prime minister so that says it all lol No hard feelings I'm Asian and brown skin I'm not racist

Talk is cheap, especially during a general election campaign, I expect that the members of all the political parties have talked about the homelessness crisis and what needs to be done about the problem, but past experience has shown that very little has been done over the past decades, there are still to many people who cannot afford a place to live and therefore homless and sleeping in shop door ways ect.

No problems in Qatar. At least in Qatar you don't pay taxes left,right, and center and get F all in return. At least Qatar doesn't Boast how rich it is like the uk CORRUPT government does and still have people on the streets, people going to Food banks.
