Going into the fight with Ukanlos in 4U, I expected another cheap fat Tigrex clone like Akantor full of lousy methods of getting hits in or one shotting you (def down buff, anyone?). What I got was a monster who made his dominion over his realm felt and heard as he leapt across the battlefield or rended it asunder with his ice beam or spines. He was a fair fight and my first fight ended with me carting once, having used 10 potions, 10 mega potions, 3 lifepowders, 2 max potions, and ALL the camp potions, breaking all of his limbs and cutting his tail, and slaying him in the last 5 minutes. THAT was a battle worth having.

The Hunter lost everything that night, so many years ago as a child. A monster that terrified them destroyed it all - their home, their family, everything they ever knew. It was getting harder and harder for the Hunter to not to get attached to its people - a beacon of warmth in the cold mountains. Sometime after Kushala's demise, reports of Ukanlos - the White God - came...a colossus that could eat Kushalas for breakfast, and whose very presence caused the already bitter cold to grow even worse for miles around. The Hunter shuddered as they imagined the villagers succumbing to the icy grip of an endless winter. "No," the Hunter thought as they gripped their weapon tightly as they stared down the beast. "Not this time."

Why is this... I can't describe it - a flying wyvern? It can't even fly! It just jumps. But there could've been no better theme for the collossal white god. I like it :)

This theme had me so revved for this fight man. I LOVED soloing this thing just because of how epic the theme made it feel. Always reminded me of a Final Fantasy track, especially the bit that starts at 0:29 and the intermission at 0:56.

It's funny how a monster related to one of my least favorite monsters can turn out to be one of my favorites.

Akantor tends to fuckle the buckles out of people with a one shot def. down, Ukanlos hides so much from you in this fight, pretty damn accurate to how their natures are

the one that threatened life in the Pokke Region is a serious monster...

He's a fun and easy fight and you can literally milk him for money. And that theme is badass. All around top tier monster.

How him and Akantor have not returned is beyond me, hopefully in 6. I think they suit the slower paced and highly graphical aspects of the console titles rather the fast paced and brighter portable titles

I love this theme, but it also has a place in my heart because he is in the first monster hunter game I played and love him more for that.

Me and my friend did a special episodic quest involving killing him as our third and final one. He wasn't as bad as I would have thought, despite being a snow Akantor. Of course the big problem was the fact that we had to do this in 15 minutes, and with enough digging to survive 10 of those minutes. I don't know how we did it on our second try, but we did. The music is epic, though.

My therory is that Akantor and Ukanolas r the same monsters just living in different environments

Comparing it to Akantor gameplay-wise really isn't fair. Ukanlos shares some moves with it but the def down vs snowman dynanics are day and night in terms of what is more detrimental overall. Ukanlos in G rank was a pain but he never gave me as much trouble as Akantor. I haven't failed an Ukanlos mission yet, but everything you learned from fighting him in high rank should really come in handy for his G rank fight.

For some reason the intro sounds like something from a Ratchet and Clank game... But can't wait to fight this guy!

When I was young I heard about a game named ‘Monster Hunter’ in PS2 but my family was too poor to afford a PS2 so all I can do was saving my lunch money to buy gaming magazines to read the news about this game and ride a bicycle to my riches friend’s house to watch him played. And MH4U was my first Monster Hunter I played. We have such a good time fainting together while fighting Ukanlos. We still playing MH together tho

Oh yes defeating this guy to me was achieving G rank in my very first monster hunter game. Oh and of course I wouldn’t have gone into monster hunter if it wasn’t for a certain group of people called the Brooklyn Rangers. Monster Hunter Frontier and MH4U be like : so we have a lot of monsters, right? Let's make a third of them fat, have magical powers, live in dangerous and irrealistic places proper to them, and make it so they one-shot you by using their weakest move!

The first time I saw this guy I couldn't think of anyone else but a Steelix that has grown an actual body with limbs.

It sound so mysterious and mystical kinda like sara ishvaldas theme but in my opinion ukanlos theme sounds way creepier.

That monster made me almost ragequit mh4u, I had to do all the game alone and I was so demoralized after being blocked on Dalamadur like two weeks and then other two weeks by him like "If I can't do this quest that aren't g-rank yet how am I supposed to start g-rank? I think this game from now on is too much for me, well it was good untill now and I went on more than I was expecting" Then I discovered the theme song "Nay! The honor il all ours" from iceborn, I almost cryed because of a video that was supposed to be funny but used this song under a "sentimental" part about what playing mh feels like and I just, took my nintendo and passed almost two hours on that quest when he finally died, was 11:27 pm and I was screaming internally after seeing the hours, even because my parents were sleeping in the room next to mine so maybe screaming on top of my lungs wasn't the best option I hate you Ukanlos because you almost made me want to just stop playing this game but his theme is cool and maybe in the end I'm gratefull of how much demoralized you made me because killinh you listening to "Nay! The honor is all ours" just remembered to me why I love this game so much, how much satisfing is to finally kill that monster that made you angry to yourself and to the game and how once you start to playing you can't just stop playing it because of the feeling it cause to you.

High Rank Ukanlos is kinda easy. G Rank Teostra's ice beam knocks me out flat with 700 armour, and the ice chunks do 1/4th. HMMMMM. Can say it's harder.

man his charge move was hard to dodge before but they really made it a bitch to dodge in this game, like sometimes im able to just run around him and sometimes im not so irritating lol

By far the worst part in this fight is getting stuck between the wall and the split and not being able to do a fucking thing about it! Jokes aside I like Ukanlos way more than Akantor: better theme, better fight, slicker design (Akantor is just a generic "put spikes everywhere" monster) and no defense down debuff. Seriously, that's the thing I hated the most about Akantor. But when it comes to armor I like Akantor's more, but oh well, they're pretty similar skill-wise.

I just noticed that it looks like they kind of copy-pasted a bit of the model from Ukanlos to make Zinogre. Obviously they tweaked some things, but I have no doubt that they started with him as a base.
