As to strategic goals, I think the Russians want Novohrodivka and a buffer to the flanks around the rail line. Then they can use the rail lines for supplies. I wouldn't doubt that the rail line is now operable to Ocheretyne. Russia does have rail engineer units in their military to keep rail lines open.

At Privnichne, take the line 1 block further west in the center. At Robotyne, the Russians attacked east along the trench making a caldron to the two entrenchments to the south. They don't have the eastern trench of the line yet.

F16s are a 70s aircraft. They were functionally obsolete after the 80s. Zero stealth capability. They will look good flying over cities but don't try to actually use them.
Just their presence would likely cause Russia to use missiles against them which could be used against other targets so they actually serve a purpose. Not saying they are good but everything counts in a war.
