Baba Yaga was actually a shaman of the forest people, the Finno-Ugric tribes who lived in the forest belt of (what is now) Northern Russia and Siberia. I've personally met the last shaman who had real powers in my country and I can tell you I wouldn't want this guy to be my enemy. This stuff is very real, and surely was even more back then if it created such a powerful traumatic memory. Russians, a steppe people, were (and still are) very unsecure in the forested areas even without any shamans hunting them. They cut all the trees from their towns to make it look nice and step-like. Something you can't even imagine in Finland where they build their houses around the trees carefully preserving every single one. Amazing. To mitigate the risk of losing a valuable drones, can it be program to fly back to the predetermined location (Be sure its an empty field so that your enemy cannot track your base and target it). It will like one of those robotic floor vacuum cleaner where it can go back to a base to dock it. Again the base need to be far behind and away from your base so that if security is compromised maybe because you lost a drone and it is decoded, it enemy just target the landing point which should not be an issue if it is just an empty field.
