Calling someone father in the sense of biological paternity (your parent) or spiritual (a priest) is not a sin. It's only a sin in some situations, you can read up upon it if you want.

He has a strong tie to the country so will almost certainly blindly side with that country and its people regardless of the situation. Its simply not possible for 99% of people to be unemotional and rational when they are intimately involved in the topic. I don't begrudge Fr. I'll raise one point from my previous comment: The Ukrainian government has been bombed and blasting the Donbass citizens and civilians for 8 years. The vast majority of artillery fire has landed in the Donbass and injured and killed thousands. Where exactly was Fr. Charron or anybody else when that was happening? Where were the cries of war crimes? The reality is that we are being fed a one-sided story by both the Fr. Charron video and the mainstream media. I have no love for Putin or Russian geopolitical interests, but I know that the situation is much more complex and the Russians have some good reasons to do what they are doing (not that I would have invaded in Putin's shoes myself).
