UL Power Aircraft Engines, UL260, UL350, UL390, UL520 experimental, amateurbuilt aircraft engines.
ULPower Engines have been developed specifically for use in light aircraft and are manufactured to the highest standards with fully electronic ignition and multi-point fuel injection (FADEC) system as standard equipment.
Our truly modern engines feature dual electronic ignition (with variable timing), excellent power-to-weight ratio, and high fuel efficiency in a conventional configuration: Air-cooled, direct drive, horizontally opposed 4 or 6-cylinder. Full aerobatic and helicopter configurations are available.
All UL Power engines fly on avgas and mogas - even with mixtures up to 15% ethanol - and can be upgraded with back-up and safety systems.
UL260
The design of this new line of engines was based around critical issues such as reliability, light weight, excellent performance, a direct propeller drive and modern, proven technology.
Thanks to the electronic engine management and multi point fuel injection, a state of the art ECU (complies to the RTCA/DO-160D STANDARD) which has several built-in safety features , automatic altitude and air temperature compensation for optimal fuel and power efficiency, automatic choke and an electronic RPM limiter , you can lift off feeling completely safe.
The UL 260 is an all round engine with an impressive power-to-weight ratio .Thanks to its compact dimensions it can easily be installed in single seated airplanes.
UL 350
As the first engines in the UL260 version were a success, we tried to increase the power of our engines. Thanks to a slightly bigger design (+8 cm / 3.15 inch wider in comparison with the UL260), we succeeded to increase power up to 130 hp.
We also created our UL350IHPS which is meant for helicopters and gyrocopters.
UL390
In 2014 the first 6 cylinder engines were developed.
These engines will power up even your 4 seats plane. Although these engines are bigger than the original UL260 series, we still managed to keep the weight relatively low (100 kg - 2240 lb).
UL 520
In 2015 we continued working on the 6 cylinder engines.
The powerful UL520 series is the perfect light weight equivalent to the well known, traditional engines of our competitors.

Wonder about pusher config on a flexing. I just bought a Rotax 100up and it scares me how expensive it is an the asking of bugs they are still sorting out. Things you'd think would have been done before they sold the fIrst one like the soft start.

Dan, why doesn’t Teledyne Continental publish the torque rating of a O-470 like UL Power does?

I like the UL engine but its just to expensive. A new titan 340 is less than $25,000 for 180hp and still less than the UL with fuel injection. And you can take that titan anywhere to get worked on.

The accessory section on the engine looks pretty sparse, where's the magnetos, fuel pump or air pump

It uses electric fuel pumps and electronic coil ignition they're mounted in the firewall.

The BEDE 4 came out in 1968-9, great plane. Can't say the same about this engine, though. Just too much money for an essentially unproven engine. I'll take a Lycoming over this paperweight any day of the week...for the SAME MONEY! No brainer folks.

That sounds like a good motor, but the name...the name "UL Power" That's about as bad a name as is possible.
