I've already bought two of these, the white versions, plus the Ulanzi tripods. Works really well and are very handy! Thank you for the insightful review! Btw the ZOMEI ND filter was that any good as I want to get 58mm to go on the wide angle lens (zv1) or its best to use the nd without the wide angle 52mm? From your other vid on accessories. Or you’ve got a different nd filter now? Or you meant get the 58mm one to go above the wide angle lens?

Great question, I actually use the 52mm variable nd I mention on that accessories vid as the first attachment on the zv1 then add the wide angle lens to that. Seems to work fine to me with no image quality issues. Hope that helps and here for Qs as ever 👍

@@dbvares8745 life saver, I didn’t actually know the nd has a thread to then attach the wide angle to that. I’ve order the ulanzi wide angle. I shall order that nd via your link now 😊👌🏾. 52mm adaptor > 52mm nd > the nd thread not sure the correct term is 52 also for me to attach the wide angle?

I still use mine for the blue light I have on the side of my face in my current setup and for lighting a lot of product shots-I think you’ll get plenty of use from yours:) 💪

Just found your channel after my ZV1 arrived today, can't stop watching your videos. Quick question, I don't plan on using my ZV1 for vlogging. I plan on using it stationaly talking head videos (similar to yours) except I'll be at my desk. Is this light really necessary for that or would it be useful perhaps as a RGB light, to put as a backdrop as opposed to mounting it on top of my camera? Cheers mate!

Hey AM, thanks for the nice comment and great question. No light is strictly ‘necessary’ but it can increase shot quality and give a nicer look. I also wouldn’t necessarily put the light on the camera - there’s a one light lighting tutorial here that shows the difference light placement can achieve: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bNFSYdgmhV8.html It will definitely work well as a nice RBG touch too so I don’t think you’ll have much downside from picking one up:) Hope that helps! Me again, do you have any recommended flash to get? been asked to do some indoor photos night. not sure if zv1 is good enough. as you have both after a flash that would work with vz1 and also a7iii as hopefully my next camera. or you think the above rgb light would be okay for taking photos, club event?

Hey OMT, great to hear from you again:) I’m afraid I’ve never been into flash photography so I can’t help too much on that side. Depending on what you’re trying to achieve the Ulanzi could be helpful for photos though (providing some continuous portable light). It’s not insanely powerful for larger environments but I think if you have it near your subjects you could get some cool results - especially if there’s cool smoke and lights around the environment . I watched your vid on zv1 gadgets....I can't believe it but I've just bought 2 of these...and I mean just...delivered next saturday...I plan on only using as backlight.. Ring lights....are a no go!! Perhaps only a point of view...

Yo HG, just using one in most of my vids as the light on the side of my face. The pinky red colour one in the background is a different rgb light by a company called weeylite - link for it is in the description. You could definitely achieve a similar effect with the Ulanzi though. Hope that helps:)
