I was just about to make the same comment. That is too much a system for a worker bee hobby fishing person.

All you may need is a single 4' but I would think about an 8' Blade. They are just so solid and dependable.

They will last at least 10 years of hard use.

Without the PP Charge, the lithium’s can be charged with a regular charger but won’t get fully charged. They need a charger programmed for a higher amperage

That is not true. I’ve read the memo from Mercury. There are about a dozen guys on tour with the exact setup you described

@@JohnCrews I figured there were plenty of people running it. I was just relaying what Suzuki, Merc and Power Pole said when I asked for that setup based on this video. I found parts of the memo on a forum. They aren’t very definitive about weather a lithium will actually do any damage to your outboard or vice versa. They are pretty definitive about any damage caused by running a lithium will not be covered under warranty and they call out using AGM in multiple places. That’s good enough for me. I’m sure it’s fine, but that new outboard is way too expensive for me to take the chance. I’m still looking forward to seeing how the Charge works with a 36v lithium and a 12v Deep Cycle AGM. It might weigh a little more and charge a little slower but it’s still a huge improvement over a “regular” battery setup. Thanks for the video, it was super informative and inspired my whole battery system. Good luck this year!

Minimum Specs Required: -Chemistry/Format: Lithium IRON Phosphate designed for MARINE CRANKING USE. -Minimum Cranking Amps: 800A for 8 second minimum @ 20 Degrees F -Peak Charge Acceptance: 165A at 20-130 degrees F for one minute -Max Charge Alternator Size: 150A at 20-130 degrees F -Max Charge Voltage/Alternator Output: 14.8V -Reserve Capacity (RC25 @ 80F): 135 Minutes -Ingress Protection (IP rating): IP67 or greater. Cautions that use at temperatures below 32F may require additional equipment such as a battery heater. Bulletin also lists a Relion Battery that has been evaluated and meets the above requirements: RB100-HP.

If you want only a starting battery and using electronics, M3180-S 12v. If you want one only for electronics, the TM2470 is all the power you need at a very reasonable price.

It’s the ultimate, not the cheapest. That’s why I explained it to be done in phases

My Lowrance units were VERY clean last year when I had the Charge. Running straight power from battery to units helps eliminate a lot of interference.

Lithium Pros works with all motor companies. I ran that battery all last year with that engine with NO issues

The issue is with charging a lithium battery directly from the alternator. The low resistance of lithium batteries pulls the maximum amount of amps from the alternator and potentially overheating it especially at idle when the alternator fan is not cooling as well due to the low rpms. I guess we'll see in the future if people are going through alternators or not.

They are 2 different views and I have been on boats with both. They are not the same thing.

I don't think you can use lithium for starting gasoline engines. I was told it would void both warranties

If one of your 3 12v goes out, you are also screwed. That’s why the Charge system is the key

@@JohnCrewsexceptionf would be if you run the garmin or lowrance tm and can switch to the 24v mode from 36...but yes it would suck with my ultrex :)

Only 3 batteries. 2 of the 12v ones and one 36v one.

@@JohnCrews will the 12 volt be in parallel so they can charge off on bank of the charger?

I’ve not run down the 36v in 40Ah or the 65Ah on a normal fishing day.

No issues for a single day of fishing. I ran a 24v setup one year on tour with a 20’ bass boat. Lasted all day on a full charge, even 13 hour practice days when I run around on the TM

i'm with you. I have 2 issues. #1 is you shouldn't hook 2 batteries in parallel that aren't the same. #2 once you did that it is 1 power bank. You are running everything off that "bank". You aren't running certain things off 1 battery and other things off the other at that point.

I paid full price for 3 years on Lithium Pros so…

@@JohnCrews Well my apologies for that if I was wrong about you not paying for the batteries out of pocket. I really wasn't trying to attack you personally. I absolutely understand the benefit of lithium, but feel at their current price, they just aren't worth the money. To each is their own though. Others may see value in them where I dont.

Also stating in the comments that the batteries work with Merc engines even though they have released several TSB's that say they should not be used.
