I love the idea of the Cumans trying to loot Skalitz and finding absolutely nothing because Henry already stole everything.

Totally shifts the prologue where Cumans are actually liberators of Skalitz from Henry's tyrannical rule.

Henry’s father: *dies* 10 minutes later Henry: *building a stockade of cuman armor in his house

Village : skalitz Population: Henry.

cutscene at Talmberg: Sigismund turns up with his 7 remaining cumans, the moment they spot Henry in several layers full armor and with 3 swords in each hand they start screaming in horror and running in the opposite direction.

For anyone watching in the future, many of the exploits mentioned in this video have been patched out. BUT you can still level up some skills for a jumpstart and get all the gold and all the precious objects of the merchants. All you need is to choke one guard that carries a Bow, it's way better if you get one with long distance arrows. Then you can endlessly kill the sheeps that wander in the grass near the combat arena, the long distance arrows will one-shot them, but you need to be careful to get the arrows back since you have only 15. When they all die you just need to run to other side of town in the proximity of the gate and go back, the sheeps will respawn and you can repeat all the times you want. This will level up archery, strength, agility, endurance and hunting much more efficiently than anything mentioned in the video, also you will get infinite meat that you can cook to "lounder" it from the stolen status so you can sell it to the merchants.

I picked up every herb from around town took me about 3 and a half hours then the first person I knocked out I got spotted and died in jail

You can roleplay that Henry was a hyper paranoid peasant and did all this stuff because he had premonition that the apocalypse was going to happen. :D

Guard: "Your name, traveler?" Guy: "Robin." Guard: "Robin...?" Guy: "Yeah, Robin Da'Armory." Guard: "Robin Da'Ar...wait." Guy: *(Chokes out guard)*

I can suggest a little improvement: Get the guard's pike in your hand before giving Theresa her nails, and you will leave Skalits with this 144 damage Pike which is one-hit any Cuman. With this Pike, I get rid of every single one Cuman that attacks Skalits pretty easily from the first try.

Seriously though if players are dedicated to doing all this over encumberment walk the developers shouldnt patch any of this the steps are punishment enough

**UPDATE** For anyone wanting to know, I tried some of this recently to see what is still possible. If you really want to grind up stats the only two ways are to either pick a ton of herbs or steal a bow from a guard and shoot cows or sheep. Stealing from the town seems like a waste of time to me, so I just robbed one guard for some weapons + armor. Forget about fighting the Cumans on foot it's too much of a pain. Just run down to where Theresa is and get on a horse. You can still gallop back and forth while stabbing all the Cuman soldiers. Grabbing a bunch of stuff from them is more than enough to give you a big financial edge. **One more thing to point out. You can get some lockpicks from Fritz if you get beat up by Kunesh. If you level it up some and get Luck of the Drunk perk, there are a surprising amount of valuables locked away in some of the houses.

Imagine. Bianca pours a drink for the two men, leaves, comes back and finds them both naked, their clothes nowhere to be found, and both unconscious, arm in arm, laying on the bench...

I remember a Guard from the beginning at Talmberg. I knocked him out and took his gear and leave the castle. Of course he was naked for the rest of the game, but I was very surprised when st the end of the game when you retake Talmberg, there was a soldier who was naked and got killed near the end of the siege. God bless that man, he was determined.

The horse you rode in on is in the stable so you can ride out of Talmburg instead of slow walking

Newb player guide is newb. Best way to gain strength agility and vitality is by hunting the cattle and sheeps (they both respawn quickly). You'll also train your hunting and bow skills, so that's pretty need. Start with shooting the cows as they're larger, and allow you to get closer, so it's easier to hit them. Once you've gotten better you can hunt the sheep. The meat you hunt can be sold if you boil it first. And most merchants in Skallitz will buy meat from you. You can no longer carry infinite weight and still mount a horse. You can only be over encumbant to 150% of your carrying capacity and still get on a horse. So don't overpack when you give Theresa her nails. Stash the rest of your loot in the locked chest in your home. It will still be there once you return to Skallitz. All Cumans you see during your escape from Skallitz can be killed, and there's a finite amount. You can get the Cummans on the horses by blocking the bridges with multiple horse (2 horses on the bridge+1 for you should suffice). You can also snipe the Cumans that stay on the other side of the stream. Once you hit them thel 'lapproach you and you can kill them without fear of being killed by a stray arrow. Once in Talmberg go directly to the inn and pay for a room for multiple nights. THis will make the inn one of your homes, and you'll be able to stash loot there that you can access from all f your other homes e.g. Rattay Mill.

Although it's somewhat patched, you can exploit the horseback combat still to defeat the cumans, however, you cannot go onto your horse when over-encumbered and, for some reason, when I dropped their stuff - it disappeared. Also, the bandits near the end of the video are almost impossible to defeat, although you can lure the one at the bridge and choke him out for his gear. After following this guide, I levelled up herbalism to lv 12, and some combat skills during the training and sneak. I finished with a total of 8k stolen which is a farcry from the 108k Camel finishes with. TL:DR - Do the leveling tips, choke out guards straight after quest saves, kill the cumans on horseback and knock out the one bandit. You'll finish with some early levels and around 8k of stuff.

So... They were like, oh we found this guy between life and dead, and a mountain of random stuff next to him, so we hired a caravan of 200 horses to carry his stuff across the country... People really are generous in kd.

Hi, It's sadly no longer possible to achieve what's in this video on the 1.6.2 update ! First of all, there is some issue with the wanted status which will corrupt any saved game, no matter what. In fact, the moment you get gaught doing something wrong, you can't load a previous save, because the wanted status will still occur. Then, you can no longer fighting too long with the trainer in Skalice (about 20 strikes and he will leaves for drinking). Furthermore, after killing the Kuman instead of running (which you can do, but take forever), just after saving Theresa, they now spawn and attack you, wether you're wearing or not Kuman equipment (making the loot of kumans impossible). And the bandits are so much a pain in the ass at the "fortress" that it's nearly impossible to kill them all. I wanted to try to achieve what's in this video for fun, but sadly Warhorse didnt agree with that...

Leg Day is an amazing perk. Makes early combat easier when you have useful levels of strength.

When trying to rob the bailiff, you can make the lady across the courtyard leave by using the wash basin in the far corner twice, which will make her get up and go to the well to refill it

After the last update you can no longer level up your sword skill during the training quest. Now it automatically ends after a short time regardless what you do. Without high sword skill your chances of defeating Cumans or armored bandits are virtually nil. Too bad they aren't as diligent patching bugs as they are patching harmless exploits.

To all modders. Can you make a mod that will make people say 'Harder daddy!' when you choke them.

With the amount of loot-moving in this guide, I can see why they called the game 'Deliverance'

Do NOT sell the gear. Instead, level up lockpicking to level 6, take the "Luck of the Drunk"-perk, take all the gear from the chest, wait/sleep until Peshek goes to sleep, consume an alcoholic drink, break into Peshek's shed right outside the room your bed is in, lockpick the lock on the chest and dump all the gear into it. Doesn't matter if it's stolen or not. Wait/sleep a few days, break into Peshek's chest again at night and steal all that shiny Groschen, baby. Why/how this works is because Peshek will actually sell all that stuff you put into his chest at a way higher price you would get for them, and it only takes a few in-game days for him to dump all the Groschen into his chest for you to steal. Way easier than selling all the gear AND you get a better price for the stuff compared to selling. Thank me later, have fun with the game everyone.

Long video short: - Be sure to loot everything before escaping Skalitz. - Choke everybody in town (with some exceptions) be sure not to be seen and all that shit. - Everytime you are asked to go one way, go the opposite. Kill everything. Loot everything. - Carry everything with you at all time, except when fighting needed, in wich case look for a chest. - Be sure to save your game before the grave digging scene. - Once you are in rattay check your inventory (now in the chest). Some things might be missing, in wich case you'll have to reload to the grave digging scene. - Get to Rattay, sell everything. - Enjoy an overpowered economy, wich we all know leads to overpowered gear. Wich leads to being stupidly overpowered, specially trough the mainquest.

Reminds me of all the Skyrim exploits before they got patched.

First encounter with that heavily armored Cuman was pretty hard, most of the proposed tactics does not work in 1.9.3 version, however, after 30+ attempts, I've managed to kill him without a single hit from him. The technique is to attack him first with sword stabbing only. When you manage to hit first stab, he will lose balance for a split of a second, that's where you spam another one, and another, until he's down. Make sure to aim properly not to lose a single hit. Dont let him attack you, just keep stabbing him and after 10-15 hits he's gone. Enjoy! Good luck!

There should be a trophy you could earn at the beginning of the Prologue for doing this called "The Devil Himself"...

it annoys me when you go to steal stuff and you get bad rep even though no one saw you

Here's how you get your best start (2022-05-06): Get herbalism to lvl 10, then get the perk for the strength. Get herbalism as high as possible (16-17) without entering the tavern area yet (ensure that the cutscene doesn't happen). Kill all regular citizen without names and choke all named citizen to steal all their belongings, then plunder their houses. Ensure that you kill all animals (sheep and cows with weapon, chicken with fist), before you trigger any cutscenes or savegames. The animals will respawn after loading a savegame and after cutscenes. Therefore, whenever a cutscene ist trough, kill all the animals again. If there's an autosave or you save manually, load immediatly after, then kill all animals. Always take the meat. Ensure that you loot at least 2 guards with bows (reloading can change their type between halberd and bow type). Put on arm protection and use half your arrows (not more!) to train bow on the sheep to lvl 2. If you get hurt or start bleeding, your mom can heal you. Cooking stolen food removes the stolen tag and they can be sold. Don't eat any food, instead eat out of all cooking pots from the NPC houses. Buy all Saviour Schnapps. When you're done with everything, you should still have around 10 Saviour Schnapps and the merchants shouldn't have any gold nor Savior Schnapps left. Save before giving the nails to the girl. For the first cuman, you wait in front of the bush on the wall in stealth mode, until he passes. Then you try to sneak-kill him from behind. If that fails, he drops his sword, then it's an easy fight against him. Just press 1 to draw your sword and he won't be able to fight you with his fists at all. Loot everything, put on his complete armour set, then run to your horse, but DON'T sit on the horse! Behind your horse is a cart. Stand at the end of the wood plank pile next to it and jump on the cart. Equip your bow, draw your bow, optionally, save here. Wait until all enemies are right next to the cart. Those with halbers/swords can't attack you. Prioritize those with bows, since they can harm you. If they are right next to the cart, it's very easy to shoot their face. You can also loot them for additional arrows. When all enemies are dead, shoot an arrow towards the 3 cumans who molest Thabeta. They will come to the cart too, deal with them like all the other guys. Kill the 2 horses, take their saddles and equip it to your horse, to increase its carrying limit. Loot however you please, ensure that you aren't encumbered and continue to the regular path. In the next scene when you have to run away from the Cumans with the horse, before you do anything else, open your inventory, take out everything (including the saddles) from the horses inventory and put it in your own, since you won't be able to access the inventory of the horse later anymore. You will be totally encumbered, but you can still run away with the horse without any issues.

This Dude has already endstats in strength etc.

Corpse Lure: Choke out and rob Alex and the Bailiff (and everyone else for that matter) with no chance of being caught, even when they wake up. 1. Kill every guard and the catch-pole so the Bailiff is the only authority left that will run to investigate a discovered corpse. The two guards at the castle entrance aren't necessary since they never move from their post. 2. Kill the woman Villager sitting on the bench across the courtyard from Alex and the Bailiff and drop her body inside the barn next to where she is sitting. You could choke her outside and kill her in the barn, but it seems choking and killing take the same amount of time, and killing outside saves you an extra step. Be an efficient psychopath! 3. Kill another Villager and drop their corpse where someone will discover it along their walking routine. 4. When the Bailiff runs to investigate the corpse, choke him out, loot him, and tell him that Pasty Smurf sends his regards. Move his unconscious body somewhere that no one will wake him up and find out that it was you who did it. 5. Return to the tavern and choke out Alex when Bianca is inside the tavern. Dump his unconscious body in the same barn across the courtyard where you put the corpse of the female Villager in step 2 so no one can wake him up and find out that it was you who did it. I realize that I am well over a year late to comment on this video, but in the course of my bloodthirsty rampage of the town, I realized that dropping corpses around town is a very effective way to break NPCs out of their programmed routines so that I could easily dispatch them away from prying eyes. Especially the Shop Guard who always leans against the outside wall of the shop. Drop a body right next to him, wait for someone to walk by and discover it and scream, and then chase down the Shop Guard when he starts running in panic. Works for the Trader and the Shop Guard inside the shop as well if you sneak in through the side door, and drop a corpse right at the back door of the store front. Open the back door, wait for them to discover the corpse and run in panic, and then presto-deado, you have two more corpses to lure others to their respective dooms. I spent 30 minutes trying your double-choke-out method on Alex and the Bailiff when they are both sitting at the table before I realized that whatever luck you had in pulling it off just wasn't going to happen for me, and I needed to find a different way. Fortunately for me, I was saving the Bailiff for last and discovered my method on accident. Hey, for some of us, half the fun is testing the game's limits and responses to see what we can get away with! It may not be the way the game was intended to be played, but so what? Anyway, good luck and happy murdering!

You know that when you've fled the castle in Talmberg, go to the inn and rent a room for just one night (2 groschen) and store your stuff in the "shared box". You won't be able to use the bed so sleep/save but the chest works!

Let's get a six year later update lol

You can use the inn, buy a bed and use the chest next to the bed to access Henry's dimension box and dump everything in it before proceeding to Skalitz. When you want to get the item from Skalitz back to rattay, you go to ruined skalitz, withdraw all your goods from Henry's chest at home (it's not a dimension chest), and dig the grave up. Then it will trigger the boss fight and you will get instant KOed and warp to Rattay, with the dimensional chest next to you.

24:40 there is a horse they let you borrow that makes things a lot easier. Just go back into the castle where the horses are and one of them should say mount.

While in Skalitz when henry comes back to burry his parents you can also use the shovel to dig up the treasure that Kunesh later tells you about. And there you find Beran's cup and around 50 Groschen.

People you guys do know that your horse you took from the Cuman is in the Talmberg stable with the other horses right? Just look for the horse that doesn’t have the “steal” mark on it.

Great video, I was battling getting this game started, boy it is tough. I've used these hints as I am building a stealth character, they were so useful. I am going to try another start now I have a better idea on how to play this complex game. Thanks

Im pretty sure most of this has been patched out as of 2020 if anyone else is watching this. Great guide no doubt. But most of the things dont work anymore. (tried for a few hours) the 2 main things are 1# bailiff and the other guy spawn facing eachother. Any attempt to get close to the tavern forced a cut scene and shuffles them to face eachother. rendering a choke impossible. 2# You can no longer ride a horse when over encumbered by 50% So you are MUCH more limited to the loot you can actually take with you Another note. Most of the people playing this game will be new players (me being one of them) After 2 hours of attempted to kill that first cewman. I only managed to defeat him once. ONCE... even after that one time. attempting to do horse ride battles when you have no clue what you are doing. thats going to be another few hours of learning and dieing over and over again. every other time he either killed me. or called his friends over along the road to make it a 1v9. So new players? guide isnt for you. just play the game and have fun....cause i didnt have fun trying this guide out one bit... My advice? Follow what the guide says for the first 12 minutes. Put all your shit in the chest. leave it there. and come back later for it. You might get 1000 extra gold. thats still a damn good start. compared to the hours of torture youll have to go through to get maybe 10-50k

Also to the ending where you keep losing gear, just leave it in the chest and come back for it after prolog is done. Then zero risk of losing anything at all.

You can save and exit as much as you want... so if you have patience you can actually use infinite saves in the prologue

This is a great guide. I picked this up for free and gave it a try. After HOURS of grinding the game became that much easier when you dont have to worry about money or equipment. PRO TIP: You can cheese the bandits if you grab their attention and hop over some logs and a pinwheel near the entrance then shoot them with arrows, their AI wont flee, just shoot and loot.

"ULTIMATE" is an understatement for this guide.

Good work man, your guide helped me out a lot. In 1.9.6 many things were patched but many steps still work suprisingly, I couldnt kill the Cumans, Rattay wants me in jail but other steps works fine.

Nobody has shown the way I play the prologue. I stealth kill a guard that has a bow after leveling stealth on villagers. The stealth skill check for a kill is much lower than the check for a knockout. Then I either systematically kill all the guards with backstabs, or I try to fight them one on one, luring them to the one roof in town that is low enough to jump onto. If they follow me there, I'll kill them with a bow. The AI can't jump gaps, and you have to jump from a wood pile to get onto the roof. If they stop following, I go back to trying to stealth kill guards. It's true that you can't kill one or two of the guards, but if you knock them out and steal their weapon, they'll run from you in fear instead of trying to fight. Once all the guards are dead, do what you want.

Something you can still do to raise stats is to trap and punch out sheep. Though it is a bit tedious and time consuming, it is possible to raise your basic stats to max by doing it. But now that Ive point that out, it will probably get nerfed.

Oh my god dude seeing and hearing that intro made me feel so much fucking nostalgia. I can’t believe it’s been two years I’ve gone not playing this game oh my god I miss it so much. I remember every time I’d get home from school watch your videos, wander around the map on a horse listening to the medieval tavern music. This is the next game I’m getting on my Xbox whenever I have the money.

The horse before the cutscene represents the horse you take to get away, that is why it is unkillable.

Not sure if it is because of patches or because I suck at all the things, but this guide has proven to be largely ineffective. The first Cuman soldier blocks and counters every attack and it seems your attacks are slowed so as to be far less effective. Subsequent fighting with Cumans results in being forcefully dismounted almost immediately. It's like the developers saw this video and changed it with patches. Even the bailiff is positioned opposite his friend now so he can't be choked out. I'm playing the PS4 version, so I don't know how that impacts things. Just wanted to let you know :)

Great Video ! this is such a good exploit! For getting a guard uniform, once you wake up and need to to go the battlement wall, if you go up the stairs to your right and follow along the wall, there is a sleeping guard in the tower you can knockout and steal his uniform and gear and then walk to the battlement wall to continue the quest where you have to wait on the wall until morning

another thing is, kunesh is immortal, so if you knock him out you can sit there indefinitely stabbing him or shooting him with a bow and build up your combat skills. just make sure you drag him into his own house and close the doors so if a guard happens by he won't notice you stabbing the unconscious kunesh. if you pick up an axe and mace you can build up those weapon skills too.

hot tip: Somewhere around 21:40 there will be a guy running on the road with one of the best chest armor pieces in the game (The Gambesons with yellow and black color, that goes over the heavy armor.). If you jump over a tiny river over on the left, the cumans will turn around and try to go around it. Giving you lots of time to stabbing that dude, then quickly jump off the horse and loot it.

What kind of wine do you recommend with this cheese?
