Although the video output is slightly darker, and less colour saturation (doesn't bother me), the worst thing that I could tell from video was that the audio output is MONO only...... that is very noticeable; especially if you use a decent soundbar or external 2.1 speaker system... a big FAIL in my opinion! Otherwise it seems pretty versatile, has a nice clean image, and the sound seems pretty clean - lacking a little of the bass - but why bloody MONO??!!

Thanks for another interesting and thorough review. It certainly has a lot of good features there - the region and aspect ratio switches, the ability to use original controllers and the compatibility with different cartridges (even if the slot itself is a little tricky). Having both AV and HDMI output is something that more of these consoles should do!

I own an original super Nintendo and I think this thing is awesome. The fact that it plays multi region and supports everything is super . The colour issue isn't something that would bother me , just adjust your tv settings a little. Then when finished you can have fun launching your favourite games into orbit 😊. How does the clone console's AV output look? I'm just wondering if it's the HDMI conversion that's making the picture darker and making the audio mono. I know some Wii2HDMI adapters had similar audio and brightness issues.

Does it work with HDMI & AV being used at the same time? Sending a signal to two sources on one console, similar to AV & RF at the same time which the original SNES is capable of.

Have you tried the multicard with an Region Adapter? Like the Action replay or the universal Adapter to play ntsc games on a pal snes?

I got one of these ages back when they were on sale for cheap. Yeah its a great clone that can play everything and the video quality for a clone is very good. Being mono I can live with cause my childhood I played the games in mono anyway cause that was the TV I had, I can live with that for the high video quality something so cheap is putting out.

thats really cool. a semi decent system for a change. Are you sure the multi game cart doesnt work on an original ntsc snes? do you have an adapter to try it on your pal snes? i assume you put it straight into your pal snes and it didnt work. it may have an ntsc region chip in it.

This is one of the first devises you’ve shown for the home that would work pretty. Well for someone that didn’t want to spend a ton of money but still have hdmi and be able to play all regions of games. Too bad it’s washed out a bit but still.... not bad at all!! 👍

Hey Sir Wickedness, seems to be a clone of the Dragon 🐲 Video System Super+ released in 2018... TCT-978 is a clone of the original Super NES custom CPU 5A22-02, TCT-976 chip is a single chip clone of 5C77-01 PPU1 and the 5C78-03 PPU2, Picture processing unit. TCT-975 is an audio chip clone of Sony SPC7000 (say it like Arnie 💪)

Great Vid, I'm hoping you can answer my question about the power brick. Can you use any phone charger to power it? Im from New Zealand so I suppose I'm going to need a different plug or a step down converter?

What I understand this runs indeed on normal 5v zo a good phone charger can work on this. In your case makes it easy because of the different connections. You see this 5v a lot with sega clones to now a days or those mini nes / snes versions from china. If it gives problem you can always get a cheap plastic converters. Power supply's do have 110v / 230v option now to.

Anyone know how to make it work MSU-1 rom hacks with altered sound on that device? Non altered sounds can be heard but altered ones doesn't. Using SD2SNES. Also I can play Gameboy roms but with no sound(SBG2 opening sound works). As I research on the web, in Super NT when cartridge audio is enabled, that problem solves.

It's a SNES on a chip from what it looks like because it's playing every game you've thrown at it even the ones with the FX chips in them and it could using a SNES mold with minor changes to it. I think I may buy one

Is this finally the Retroad SFC52HD???? This thing is great with the GB/GBC Extension Converter and an Everdrive GB X7!!!!! I have its Battery operated brother the Retroad 5 Plus. I got a cheap China Everdrive clone for mine and use it sometimes but it's mostly my Gameboy Color Player. I am seriously thinking about buying this because my Super Famicom stopped working but I don't really need it because the Retroad 5 Plus has HDMI as well. This is a great review. To bad it hadn't been sooner to get those Christmas orders in.

Gente o meu Snes clone so da tela preta, comprei um everdriver nao pega, depois comprei um catucho multi jogos tambem so tela preta e agora dokey cong 3 tambem com tela preta, alguém pode me ajudar? Sera defeito no consele ou nos cartuchos, o carticho de NES que acompanha o console roda de boa mas os cartuchos de Snes todos dao tela preta.

Actually the screen is not darker compared to all Snes models. But only to later revisions of Snes (that were more brighty image and too saturated in my opinion). The color is pretty fair to early Snes models from 1990

I wonder if the plastic bits are compatible with a real SFC/SNES. Also, was the audio in stereo? One of these, otherwise really nice, had only mono audio... :( Edit: Answered in comments. :) Sadly, no, and mono.

That's pretty cool. I notice the package says it's compatible with Gameboy and "Sega" games, too. Does that mean Gameboy only via the Super Gameboy? And Sega What? Can it take Master System or Megadrive carts?

It probably reffers to adapters, yes the Super Gameboy is compatible with this chipset, the Sega part is probably one of those Megadrive on a chip that you can plug in the cart slot of the Snes.

The colors are darker and the sound isn't as lush and bassy as the original but you know...it's an acceptable difference if you can't find or afford a classic super nintendo. I may pick one of these up if I can afford one soon.

Two years later(2024) I have purchased three of these bad boys and I’m sad to say that they seem to have eliminated the wired controller 😢 It just comes with 2 wireless controllers (that seem to die quickly after a few uses) regardless it is still a fantastic system ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

je possede ce systeme et l utilise en rca sur un ecran cathodique et ecran plat en rca et hdmi... la couleur est moins vive sur le clone,mais plus detaille sur l image en rca.j utilise les manettes originales snes pour jouer,plus de precisions un super clone,en comparant ma snes et le clone,tres tres peu de differences.pour une personne qui n a jamais possede une snes choix ideal... bonne video wicked..

The sound is of by a tiny bit. But the real question about it's audio: is it stereo? Mark Smith (Retro Core) had this one or very similar AliExpress clone and he figured out that, unlike original SNES (or Super Famicom), sound output is Monaural (Mono) only.

ce systeme est en stereo et tres peu de difference avec une vrai snes,j utilise les manettes snes pour jouer,l image est parfaite et encore plus belle en mode rca sur ecran plat et encore plus belle sur cathodique.cartouche everdrive,japonaise,americaine,toutes fonctionnent... sur les 300 cartouches que je possede toutes passent un super clone foncez pour acheter...

All Chinese SNES clones basically use the same chips. My SNES model is different but uses the same chips. This console uses the TCT-978 chip (a clone of the 5A22-02 CPU), the TCT-976 chip (a single chip clone of the 5C77-01 PPU1 and the 5C78-03 PPU2) and the TCT-975 chip (a clone of the Sony SPC700 audio hardware).

Am I the only one? When you compared the graphics side by side, I always felt like the original SNES was way too oversaturated in color. Call me weird but for my taste the knockoff looked better on every game shown.

That's a decent console for the price although I'd rather spend £10-£20 more on a real SNES and run it thought an upscaler. Even with the low end upscaler you are using the image looks sharper than the knock off SNES. I'm not a cart collector so I play via roms on an Everdrive but I can see additional value in this console if you have lots of carts from different regions.

So is this emulation or what? And please, could you test Top Gear 3000? AFAIK on BSNES emulator can deal with that games chip (incidentally, its the only game that uses it). I'd be VERY surprised if the console plays the game...

Actually all three TCT chips are the Snes clone, there is not an actual nes clone inside the console. Aslo Snes clones from the 90s are the same as this in the way they perform, specially those from the late 90s, this is just a modernized version of a 90s clone, but they all work the same.

Well I know it's has some benefits and HDMI but I've seen way cheaper original snes than this clone :P At least in Netherland, for the same price as this snes clone is standard working used one with cleaned case. Cheap budget version is just the same used one but unclean and yellow, may be scratches and litle external damage. Controller isn't included in budget version. Maybe in other countries price is higher, if yes than this is cheap alternative.
