Yeah, I mean, I love Mike, but I'm admittedly more likely to replicate one of the more "bang for your buck" recipes in terms of time invested! Especially since I'm not very cheffy, so most recipes take me much longer than stated, lol. If Barry's had been savory instead of a dessert, I'd have 100% been more likely to make his even if he placed 3rd, lol.

There's actually a great word that everybody uses to specifically describe savory flavours in food, regardless of geographical origin... Things like dark soy, mushroom ketchup, oyster sauce, cooked tomato, yeast extract... Hmm, what is it again? It's not a Chinese word, no... Not even 2 minutes in and Jamie is trying to make the chefs cry. I think he has a high chance of doing that, maybe not because of the emotion he was going for. But we'll see. Pass it on suggestion: the boys pick five ingredients before starting the challenge. Each chosen ingredient must be used only once throughout the challenge. Forgetting to use an ingredient, or using it more than once results in a fail. Other ingredients in addition to the five special ingredients can be used.

Despite the fact he lost, I think Mike challenged himself the most out of the three. We know Jamie is good at meat and Barry chose something very simple but Mike tried something quite out the box and with fiddly techniques and interesting flavours. They all did really well though and it was a great video. :)

I was thinking that maybe he wasn't trying to push himself too hard, or maybe he was just trying to take it easy. That fish and chips pass it on was brutal for him, so it'd make sense.

Ooohhhh! Jamie! Next time you make an Asian-inspired gravy, try using arrowroot powder instead of flour! Totally different texture and flavor profile!

Oh interesting!! I've used arrowroot in baking but I've never thought to use it like that.

@@violetskies14 - It seemed to be used in quite a few Asian-American dishes and in a quite a few Cantonese Chinese dishes as well.

@@davidrust3169 I'll definitely have to try it! In Britain we have more Indian and Pakistani immigrants than ones from places like China and the rest of east Asia (though that might change what with the whole Hong Kong thing) so I'm a lot more familiar with South Asian cooking and flavour palate.

I can always watch Sorted. Any video, any time, and it's always amazing and you're finding new ways to do your videos and I can watch them all over and over. The little interviews before the battle and drawings were great lol. It's fun to see how much better the normals have gotten at these!

First time spending christmas exclusively with my partner, without any other family so we have to come up with our own traditions. Need to combine slovak, german and english cuisine all together and maybe add a bit of french so our cat feels included as well :D Might try a thing or two from this video.

I've been a fan of Sorted for years and I honestly appreciate everything you do for us. It must have been difficult to keep things up during this pandemic, but you've kept the channel going and I hope the whole team know how much what they've done to make this year tolerable for so many of us, truly means.
