Nice video and a great cutty stealth build. Ditching the turret to lower your emissions even more was an awesome idea. However, you need to avoid get shot with ballistic weapons when running that load out. Stealth and competition components have very low HP and can be destroyed very quickly with a few well placed bullets.
Another great guide, thanks for the video I want to try experiment with my own builds now. One bit of feedback: it might be better to speed through the walking sections more, the visuals + your directions are enough, and show real time for the combat at the end. It's informative to see the time to kill against NPC ships with the set up you made, particularly in real time to compare to how long it takes us.
Another very good video, thank you. I chose to go with Deadbolt III's as my weapon of choice to get a quicker kill due to higher DPS and Alpha. Interestingly, my EM emissions went from the 4.3 with your configuration to 3.9K with the Deadbolts due to their lower energy use (.1 vs. 1.25) which seems to add to the "stealth" concept. While the deadbolts have a slower velocity (900m/s vs. 1400 m/s), if I engage right at EM or CS detection range with a barrage of missiles and continue to close at 200m/s, the delta in projectile speed for that first strike won't matter. If using component targeting, go for the engines and this Alpha strike might be sufficient to knock their engines out on the first salvo, depending on the target. If not, the subsequent dogfighting may be where the higher NBD30 projectile speed comes in handy, however. It will be interesting to compare. Thanks for the info!
I never considered a stealth build for the Cutty. It just seemed too large and noisy to bother. This one looks good and went up just as I was starting to compare components to see if my builds were still what I wanted. This was a good push for that. Thanks.
I don't have a Cutlass, but this video was very informative and well made. Props to you! I know you're a Drake guy, but if you could do a similar video on a connie/Taurus as it's commonly used for Vaughn that would be amazing:)
Nice build, i had considered similar for the stealth factor but noticed the hit points on many of these components are some of the lowest available, is this a factor at the moment?
It's definitely a factor. I tried my best to keep my components hp above 1k but stealth components come with It's draw backs and that's mostly hp. You could go military for more hp but you'll lose your stealth
you still have a cross-section detection range of 13.7k with this setup, so that would be the detection range of the ship for pings/targeting. lowering IR/EM does nothing if the cross section value is a greater number.
If you point towards a ship it goes down to 4600. You get different cross section values for front, sides, bottom and top. That 13.7k is just a combined number and not your actual detection range
@@TheCoreGameplay from what I understand that is the intended gameplay of cross section but currently the entire ship is detectable from that range. i fly the eclipse quite a bit, stripped down with no shields and 1 cooler. had a friend test the detection range and its about 9.5k, identical to my displayed cross section value, regardless of how i oriented the ship. it could be just the eclipse though, you never know with star citizen and i have not tested it elsewhere.
Cutty Black was my first upgrade from the Titan but I'm not a fan of how easy the nacelles can be shot off. That and every dirty pirate in the verse seems to use them so now when I see one I'll tail it to see if it's up to no good. :P o7
Be aware that the Haltur shield has the highest shield hit point pool, but its health hit points are abysmal. If the shield goes down, the system will die quickly.
True, but it kinda matches the playstyle of the Cutlass, since the cutlass's hitpoints are pretty bad and its engines and pylons can very easily be shot off, so if the shield goes down the system hp is the least of your concerns tbh
It was a difficult choice to make for the shield but I thought if I'm going to be in a fight there's probably no way I'm getting the chance to run away against a light fighter so I'll take a fat shield with low hp pool. To tank the hits and hopefully I can come out on top.
Oh, I'm not saying it's a wrong choice. I just think it's a detail worth mentioning is all. And I do love that stealth actually matters now. I have my little C8R all stealth (including the tiny shield).
