As usual, very nice project. Seems like I pick up a tip or two each time I watch one of your vids. And now that I have my own woodworking channel, I have gained a whole new respect for those of you who get a video out every week. My hats off to you! It's not as easy as it looks lol!
A very talented young lady you are, I have seen a lot of young ladies with talents like this on RU-vid, Pinterest, and Instructables, and that is good. I like your very methodical approach to your work, Darbin. I hope my granddaughters turn out as talented as you are. Then my beautiful daughter is a talented lady too...so hope the little lasses pick up on mum's abilities as well.
I recently saw a dresser with a similar concept to this at hobby lobby. I think it was made for scrapbooking, so it had tons of small shallow drawers, mixed with various other size drawers. I'm going to have my husband help me diy something similar to what I saw, and this video was exactly what I needed to figure out how to construct what I'm looking for!
I love your drawer system. To make the drawers faster I think you could have assembled the fronts, backs and sides as one long drawer shape, then systematically cut the drawers to final length on a table saw.
I love custom made workstations. It looks very inviting to sit down and start working! Perhaps you can add even more stuff to this as time goes on! Thank for the video!
Just one thing for the long term use: Put a 2-4 milimeter elevation under the large bottom drawer. That way it won't grind away the polyurethane. Now it's sliding over the mdf and it will grind into it. (I know you said you can change it out, but it will give it some extra lifetime) :)
I love Linn's projects; they are often ambitious yet manageable. Just a quick suggestion though. A channel could be routed at the front edge to catch pencils and small parts from rolling off.
Linn, this would be nice for model rail roaders. Work space for working on railcars and engines, plus drawers for all the small parts and electronics for the layout. Good work!
+revieck I'm a woodworker and a rail roader and your idea is spot on. Oh, and of course electronics work goes along with rail roading. I've just discovered the arduino and will be using it on my layout for lighting and crossings etc. Yep. I'm gonna' need one of these!
Wow! That is so impressive! You are really talented! I am impressed with myself if I manage to assemble something from IKEA 😂 I'm gonna binge watch your videos now 😃
What I like about the videos is that I see that a woman makes things that are normally done by men. My compliments for your nice workshop also look good.
Great project. I also love that it features and stores your past projects and future tools. I think it was a good choice not to put separators in the drawers, more trouble than benefit. Cheers.
I've been thinking of a similar design for all my screws and small fasteners. I'm going to make the drawer fronts from plexiglass so I can see what is inside. Another idea is to use the size screw or fastener as the drawer pull. Thanks for sharing your ideas...now I can steal a few.
A great design or prototype for a shed, but the design is so good it would work as a fine piece of furniture for your home, just some quality wood and sort out some draw runners or get the draw gaps closer and even, 10/10 for the shed, 5/10 for the home.
A very interesting build Darbin I have been thinking of something like this for my out building but may need to build it out of wood, by the way I love the videos please keep them coming as I am an avid fan and watch as soon as they appear. Kind regards stay safe Bob.
Hey I know this is an older video but a great way to paint small items quickly is to attach them to a cheap lazy susan/ cake turntable with double sided tape and give it a slow spin while you're spraying!
very nice work. I'm obsessed with cubby organizer things. I have that dewalt palm router, it's really nice, think I use it more than my full size router
I like it a lot and if you wanted you could replace the front with acrylic plastic sheet and with the majority of the box being wood it going to last longer than the flimsy plastic expensive rubbish in the shops.
Well done Linn!! Im gonna use that for inspiration. However, Adam Savage: "I don't like drawers. They're where things go to die". Maybe in time you will change the front to see through eg Acrylic? Elsker din stemme!!!
Hi, and love your channel. Can you show us how to make one of those black iron pipe benches? I guess the pipes just screw together and you add a wood top. Thanks.
Hi Linn, What a great project! I've been wanting something for my electronics bench and this is perfect! I may divide the drawers into smaller compartments, and I have to make at least twice that many :o( Great job!
