The netting is a race feature. It prevents gravel to enter the exhaust in case the bike slides after a crash and goes into gravel traps

Id prefer aprilia over Ducati any day. Never heard competition werkes exhaust. Not sure if I spelt it right, but it's a nice pipe. Educational channel here for me, lol.

Agreed. I have a 2007 R1. Sucks having those two converters in the exhaust system. Slipon was the only thing I could afford at the moment and went with 2Bros Carbon Fiber. Looks mean but, without aftermarket mid pipe it's not as impressive audibly.
