Just got one not long ago, do all 08s burn oil or some, and what are the symtpons cos i dont smell any oil burning. But i noticed when i bought it and got serviced the oil level would be full, now after 1000km of riding here and there i checked the dip stick and i couldnt pick up any oil (doing it the keeping it upright way and warm it up and turned off for a few minutes) but first thing in the morning bikes leaning on the side stand i can see its level to low now that i just topped up 400ml

This IS MY FAVOURITE R1 EVER WITH THE CROSS PLANE, IF IT HAD THE NEW R1 TECHNOLOGY, IMAGINE WHAT A GREAT BIKE IT WOULD BE, IT WOULD BE INSANE. BUT THE ORIGINAL ONE IS BEAUTIFUL AND INSANE ENOUGH AS IT IS, JUST A MASTERPIECE OF A BIKE
I have a first gen R1, only has 14,000km on it, (8600 miles) and its absolutely MINT. But the time has come to let it go, an injury to my back means riding it for longer that 15 minutes is too painful, I'll replace it with an MT-10SP i think.
