You should make a video about CATCHING different types of kicks. Be the alpha martial artist and take their leg from them if they dare offer it

Striking in any self defense situation is a bad idea. Judo, wrestling, jiujitsu, striking in that order. Keep your feet on the ground. Especially in a face to face fight situation such as this. Striking should never be necessary in any self defense situation. And that being said should only be done when on the ground. There’s also a case for striking on the ground when you’re in a bad position- but that scenario requires YEARS of training, and understanding.

man, if anyone can just step aside and evade your kicks, your kicks are ABYSMALLY slow. I teach a variant of the cat-position, which I learned in Korea, in 1972. The knees are deeply bent, while the front leg is lifted nearly off of the ground. The back knee is aimed nearly rearward, So the front knee can straighten and avoid most of a linear kick's power, and if hit, the damage is minimized, cause the leg moves easily. It takes months to condition your legs to be able to use this stance properly (either leg forward) However, once you "get' it, it protects you in many ways. Trained men don't cause problems, so you wont be facing one unless YOU are the trouble maker. We glide-back or jump back to evade almost any attack. Kicks are the ideal answer to almost any attack with the hands, especially vs untrained attackers.

kicks should RARELY be attempted at heights greater than knee level and never higher than bladder level. There's almost nothing you can do to stop a skilled kicker hitting your shins.. It's done with a "golf-putting" motion and the impact area is the inside edge of your foot. This is very easy to do as you cover up vs blows with his hands. such a kick is very disabling. Then, if he's still on his feet, you can side-kick the side of his knee and he'll be on the floor, unable to stand up. You can then do whatever you want with him
