@@tomthebadasscat I imagine if you were actually trying to hide drugs and slightly knew what you were doing you could pretty easily make this compartment airtight. That would at least make them much less likely to find it I'd think.
Imagine being the Estate Agent that has to sell Colin's house if/when he moves out: "Ahh, yes. Here we have the secret compartment to hide your snacks. And over here, a top-of-the-line retractable roof. Back there, your standard doomsday bunker"
Love your channel. Have build some crazy inventions myself. I built a front loader attachment out of radiators welded to make the bucket, scaffolding and the hydraulics from the tail lift of an old van. Bolted to the front of an old airforce Land Rover. I build this because, I had a barn at stables, and when I wasn’t there, the muck would be dumped and would spread and I couldn’t get to the barn. As the bucket would raise, it would stay level, which made a really handy device for working overhead. 1 bucket was 14 wheelbarrows. Much respect Colin
You are who I wanted to grow up to become. I am 27 now, working a boring desk job, and haven't gotten my degree yet. But one day I will get there and I will have a blast living a similar life like you. I enjoy your content and it gives me that drive to build. Thank you Colin Furze.
The the problem with it, is that it would be a more difficult to access for him self, if it faced the hinge side the door would have to be opened more the 90 degrees to pull out the rack fully, plus nothing would half to be in the way, such as the mops or brooms. Trying to clear brooms or mops just to grab chips every time would get quite annoying, and also having to open the door so wide. Compared to the quick access but still a secret handle side. Where you barely have to have the door open, its quicker access, and you don't have to move anything besides the door and the hand broom to pull out the rack. This method is also over the top for a bag of chips, but if a man wants to hide his chips let him. That is most likely why he didn't put the rack on the hinge side Edit: It also seems like there is much room for that door to open too, since what seems to be an outside door is right there too.
I recall reading "SpyCatcher" and one favorite places to hide a radio mike was inside a door. The spy would break into the Embassy at night; drill a hole in the top of the door, then lower in a tube of D-Cells with radio mike inside. No one ever saw the top of the door and never saw the hidden mike.
@@chrisneale2036 - Lets see, Thatcher was in power in the UK when the book came out. She tried to stop it being published. Wonderful photo somewhere of a journalist sitting on the steps of the courthouse, where the case was being heard, reading a copy he picked up in France. The period the book described was between the end of WW2, through the 50s and 60s and into the 70s. Wonderful description of how you could alter a phone of the time such that after it was hung up the mouthpiece would continue to work. So it was possible to listen to what was happening in any embassy in the country.
What strikes me is how well made all of his projects are, everything is measured and done properly and he even takes his time to 3d-print measuring brackets. Well done Collin although your snacks are no longer hidden :P
No, he came straight from the factory. He grabbed a bag straight off of the production line that hadn't been sealed yet. The cheeky bugger also held it under the dispenser for a few cycles to top it off, you know, for the drive. Who can blame him though, those things are like, 85% air.
In all situation, you will be the king of survival. When I saw your underground bunker 1 or 2 yrs ago, I thought I might have to build one someday. Not just for zombie survival but mainly for practicing rock songs without disturbing my neighbors. But then I realized that I'm not rich or even have the amount to do that. So screw my dream bunker. Hahahahaha
Well, it has to survive the bending of the door. If he used anything less, it'd get jammed easily. You forget that the door is pretty heavy itself, and with the original supports gone, it'll be a bit oof. He could've made it out of wood, yes, but it'd be prone to jamming.
@@dimitar4y Standard interior door? Not heavy at all, the framework he put in will have more than doubled the weight. It's like 1/2" wood and 3 ply, nothing to them. Old fashioned oak door? That's a different beast.
I am enjoying the level of creativity by walkers crisps and Colin Furze to advertise a product. We can say goodbye to the old annoying TV adverts interrupting your TV program and enjoy a wonderful creative You-tube video :)
We don't hide our guns, drugs, or money. We leave those things out on the kitchen table for our kids to find, so they can become societies problem too. Maybe do some research before spouting nonsense.
@@notahotshot Generally very few Americans leave there guns lying about. Most families have gunsafes with combination locks on them. If a gun is lying out it's either decoration or has a gun lock in it.
Oh sorry...22.5gram (0.793oz) bag of crisps. I found that same bag style on the Walker's website. It is not a larger 'Grab Bag'. Heck, even a Grab Bag is only 36grams (1.26oz)!!
@@gaz2298 Hmm. I see where you are going. A mechanism or set of slide bearings (looks like he used NMB!!) attached to an aluminum or even steel angle iron might rattle or become imprecise.
Actually getting me through this social isolation when everything that I usually love I either can’t do or has got boring already. Can’t thank you enough 👌🏻
I would like to think that years later, after the new owners have gotten used to these werid things in the house, someone points them to his videos. AHHHHhhhh so THATS why the door had a pocket. I thought a drug dealer lived here.
@colinfurze I have always been amazed by the things you build Colin and always wanted to do things like you're doing as a kid but never lived up to my dreams due to life circumstances 😭 but as I sit here eating my breakfast I am counting down the days until I start college for welding! You're a true inspiration! I might as go as far to say I could be your Western counterpart in a few years
"Alexa, we need guns" *bathroom mirror slowly hinges off the wall revealing CZs, 1911s, Glocks, S&Ws* *Bedroom mattress is pulled away revealing Remingtons, Sigs, H&Ks*
Just need to say that i have never subscribe to a youtuber! After watching a number of your videos i am considering actually subscribing to you. The things you make are great and a wide range..... Colin you sir are great
True, that'd be even better hidden, but he'd need to be able to open the door past a 90° angle to do that and the entire setup doesn't really look like that's possible.
@@JerryDLTN Well no. Fries are Fries. Chips are thick potato...things. Crisps are chips, because they're crispy. Cookies are Cookies, as Cookies are a separate thing to Biscuits. And Biscuits are...Wait does america even have an equivalent?
Had a theif break into my car and steal my dashcamera just last week. Filthy criminal also nabbed my secret stash of beef flavour hola hoops from the glove compartment.
