In this video I make a loose #tenon #jig that duplicates the killer features of the Festool #Domino - narrow and wide slots in a single jig. And yes, I had to go there with that 'ultimate'. 🤷♂️ Enjoy!
Plans are available on my Etsy here - bit.ly/TenonJig

I love the idea of that spacer jig for the Festool track saw. Allows one to set the track on the "wrong side" of the cut without losing a blade width's worth of material. Brilliant!

As a long time subscriber and huge fan of your work, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for this! I’m part way through building it… I’ve tweeked the sizes as I’ve already got a big bag of 6mm loose tenons, and I’ve found a great manufacturer of router bits and other tools called RENNIE TOOLS near Manchester. Most suppliers only sell 6.3mm diameter cutters - which would be too sloppy - but they do several spiral up cut models at exactly 6mm. Could be a useful contact for you, as I know you ship router bits with your flat pack loose tenon kits 😊

Clever design! And as always a great video. One thought, if you make the two boards of different thicknesses you don't have to change plunge depth on the router when changing between face and edge cuts and thus reduce the risk of messing things up. You still have to set it correctly for the first cut of course but then you can rapidly go through a mix of of cuts without a thought. Forgetting to change the plunge depth is somehting I'm allways worried about when I use my Domino.
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop 3 года назад
Thanks Stefan! Yes, the accidental deep plunge is why I switched to using 5x30 dominos almost exclusively - 15/15 plunge, wether it’s face or edge. Yes, good idea about using different thicknesses for the face & edge of the jig, though that would only work with one length of domino of course; depends on what your ‘go-to’ loose tenon length is, I guess, wether it’s worth the extra effort. 👍👍
@stefaneriksson9634
@stefaneriksson9634 3 года назад
@@10MinuteWorkshop Oh, of course, that's clever! I've always bought 5x40 thinking they might provide a slightly stronger joint but thinking about it, the weakest side is most likely the one that gets the face cut and on 18mm stock the depth limit is 15mm anyway. I guess it's a very rare case that 5x40 would provide a noticable performande gain over 5x30 that would actually make a difference. I bow to my master and orders 5x30 =)
