Greenley is incredible. It is a freshie but is a beast mode fragrance. Pumps off my skin for 10+ hours and smells like heaven. By far my most complimented fragrance and I own Layton, Herod, and Carlisle. I love all four, but Greenley wins.

Great video. THANK YOU for covering some of the lesser known PdMs. You can only hear about Layton so many times. Been very curious about Ispazon, and no one ever reviews it. I love Shagya- smells like an historic building, like an old museum, church, library, etc. Not a crowd pleaser, but I sure enjoy it.

Sedley on D! 😭 Have been wearing ‘20 version and surprisingly getting lots of compliments, not expected since frag heads saying its weak...I guess not on my skin. I’m a sucker for freshie so can’t wait to get my nose on Greenly/Epsom/Sutton. The other PDM I have...Layton and Herod FTW! 🙌

Thanks for your perspective Manny! I have bottles of Herod, Layton, Galloway and Byerley and love them all. For me Galloway is a great office fragrance here in the desert, where weaker fragrances die in the car on your way to work. Similarly Byerley is a GREAT fragrance for me and has the kind of robust signature that makes me feel like I can rip the arms off a Sasquatch!

I think PDM is great. Pleasing scents for the most part. I am a lover of freshies, so Sedley is my personal fav. Really want to smell Greenley (I liked the name Sutton more). Amouage tier list would be bomb!

I got Carlisle, Layton, Layton Exclusif, Herod, and Percival (I LOVED A&F Fierce in my younger years). Between these 5, you'll have a top-of-the-line niche scent for literally any occasion. I've got some other side scents to mix things up, but these 5 are like my version of the Power Rangers. Absolute favorite is Layton Exclusif. Top and mid notes are basically bottled nose orgasms.

I loved this! The tier concept is an awesome way to discuss the house, and your descriptions were great (although I might be biased since my top five PdM fragrances were in your S + A tiers :-). I actually ordered Greenley when it was still Sutton, the morning it launched, so I have it. I think it's a slightly more original and refreshing blend than Sedley, but the performance is about the same, so I think I'd keep it with Sedley at D, *possibly* bumped up to C just for the quality of the blend. And while I prefer the "Sutton" name, I far prefer "Greenley" over "Epsom." 🤣

Galloway is in my top 3 for sure. Such an underrated scent and DNA. Lalique White is pretty good especially for the price, but smells more powdery than Galloway (and of course doesn't last as long or composed with as nice of ingredients)

I mean, if there's a Chopard AD around you, it would be cool to test it there... But if you're only there to test fragrances, depending on the associate, they may feel dismissive towards you, like they'd rather deal with some more "serious" clientele who could be there spending five figures on watches or jewelry... So if you have seen me mention it lately, it's only been in good light... So of course I'm finna say that it's worth picking up... But that's for me; I have no idea what your taste is like and what you wanna use it for. So if you can afford to be burned by a blind buy gone awry, and if this is your one "chance" to get it, then get it. Otherwise, don't; even if it is for a deal. Crouching Domik, Hidden Merrimen Have not worn all od them yet, however both Layton and Percival got me compliments. And one night I wore Oajan to bed just to see what my wife will say (she did not know about my purchases) and she couldn't get of me smelling me hahah. She loved Oajan, she said I smell lovely like a Christmas cake.

Sure Marly gets people into slightly higher level perfumery, but what's the point? They still lean too familiar if that makes any sense. For me, if I am spending more money on something, I want it to be furthermore different from what I am used to at a more approachable level. Or if they lean wearable, I want them to be original at the very least. PdM doesn't do either for me, so I have owned no more than a couple of them ever, historically speaking... However, the people they do service for the most part are really only their own specific sect of the "community", aren't they? It's not like they are looking out for other brands as much and can like other offerings as much. They're just bro AF about this stuff, and it is what it is. The community is fragmented and that's fine. It's just THAT fragment of the community seems to be getting a lot of attention, because they draw attention to themselves whenever there's uproar for an upcoming PdM scent [among other things]... So with that being said, maybe other brands should inundate their most rabid of buying bases with stuff they may also want too, instead of doing a string of underwhelming offerings in comparison to previous cult classics... So I guess we have to give PdM credit for that; because they're still trying for the people that mess with them. Thanks for stopping by, brother.

Not the best style of analysis that I have seen. Although they live in the same neighborhood, Godolphin is NOT a clone of Tuscan Leather. Both are sweet leathers and that's where the comparison ends. Hamdani IS animalic to be sure. Don't know if you actually wore it, and if so, made it to the dry down, it's worth waiting for--very different than the opening. Thanks for the ranking but..., did I hear you say that PDM fans are people to whome art is secondary?! I'm a fan of yours but don't stretch it. I don't appreciate Picasso's art but I don't go so far as to say people who appreciate him don't have an appreciation of art. 🤦‍♂️

You're welcome! Also, may you respond with a time stamp to where I say that Marly fans don't have an appreciation for art? Because I'm pretty sure I didn't say that verbatim. Plus, you also mentioned otherwise; with me saying that art is secondary for them... So just for clarification, I wasn't implying that Marly stans completely forego the art of innovation; it's just that they have a different set of criteria that drives them. For example, long-lasting and crowd-pleasing traits may trump other potential criteria for them. I'm just saying, that the more adventurous offerings and/or offerings that don't smell too reminiscent of approachable stuff is where they fail artistically. Just saying, in comparison to the Malles, MFKs, most Kilians, most Clives, high end Guerlains, or some other department store niches, I'd say that Marly comes up with less creative DNAs than those guys. So again, Marly is driven more by a nouveau riche, masstige approach, and that's okay. I'm truly over the moon for anyone who is into that. That's cute. It's just not for me overall. If you wanna disagree with any of the aforementioned points here and/or on the video, cool. Ain't nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree. But Pejman, I'm honestly not trying to fight people on Marly either. Real talk, I'd rather people be into any fragrance than be against the very notion of fragrance, period. So yeah, cheers! @@pejmansehatpour7838 when I say "art" there, I'm more or less talking about even a slightly more creative DNA. "I'm just trying to take my mind into the mind of the Marly consumer." Isn't the lack of empathy for each other one of the reasons why people don't know how to cordially engage in discourse nowadays? You know; with people only trying to communicate their agendas, rather than trying to understand other opinions or stances? So am I wrong for trying to empathize with a Marly consumer by trying to get into their mindset? Because that's what I tried doing. Are an accessible/less challenging smell and performance not their biggest of criteria? Is the notion of a high-level, seamless blend and/or a blend that is furthermore creative something that they are willing to forego in favour of that aforementioned criteria? And if I am completely wrong, why are some of their more "creative" offerings less lauded for the most part? Also, to be fair, their level of pleasing crowds is an innovation in itself. If it makes you feel better, I think that's to be admired in itself. Again, not hating; it's just what it is. Cheers! =]

@@pejmansehatpour7838 so when I was discussing "art" in the video, it was in reference to the level of creativity or lack thereof within their blends. Now is it ingenious or an art in itself to target people who mainly forego that notion because they prioritize long-lasting, "good-smelling" offerings? Yes. So if anything, doesn't that just mean that we have a disagreement on what's the most paramount of artistic criteria? For me, creativity is at the core of that, and I think it's a hard argument to drive home to say that PdM does that better than the aforementioned brands in the last point. Again, to prioritize remixing previous blends isn't as artistic to me, and I honestly think that PdM fans know and believe that too. They wear this stuff because they like it for other reasons and it's more functional in that way or more. Again, I applaud them and the brand, and I hope you understand this too. Cheers! =]

Overpriced, derivative, 'greatest hits', clone house with faux-royal branding akin to Creed - which is ironic in itself - peddled alongside their sister brand Initio by several well-known sell-outs in the community. The scents aren't awful but are definitely uninspired and geared towards a very specific, nouveau riche demographic.
